Put another game in the "BEN-WAHHH" column. He's been a big reason why this team is winning games during Nash and Stepan's cold streak.
He needs to be re-signed.

Agreed.
*Depending on price and term.
Oh, for sure. I don't want to pay him THAT much.
4 x 1.5, though? Do it up.

Mmm... don't know if I'd do that if I were him. I'd want SOME security, but also just a bit of upside. I'm guessing if you want to go sub-$2MM, you've probably got to limit it to 2 years. Still, I'd definitely take that deal.
Very happy with Pouliot. Glad to see he's found his niche on this team and is contributing at a steady pace.
But there is a reason this guy is on his 5th team in 5 years, and I, for one, am not ready to start throwing around 4 year contract extensions willy-nilly.
Poo is my preferred kind of 3rd liner.
Oh, one can go back further in time than that. Brian Lawton, anyone?
Exactly, he is exactly what you want of a 3rd liner - someone with enough talent to drive the play and score, but not consistent enough to lock down a top-6 spot (and a top-6 salary).
What used to be known as a "3rd line player" is what we today classify as a 4th liner, and what used to be a 4th liner is no longer an NHL caliber player.

I think the moment you take him off of that line with Brassard and Zucc, his game is going to suffer. Was at the game last night and those three are incredible in the offensive zone and on the break out. They not only find each other with great passing, but the lanes that they skate are tremendous. The natural chemistry is hugely important for those three.

I feel the same. I fear what Pouliot and Brassard will look like without Zucc spoon feeding them great passes.
