Leafs need to move on. If they breath wrong on Bennett or Bob, you know it will be a suspension with both teams histories regarding the DOPS. Focus on the task at hand.

I just want to bump this to make sure people know how terrible the study is.

"Survey participants were recruited from the international clinical research registry of the Concussion Legacy Foundation, a 501 (c) (3) public charity based in the United States with chapters in Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom. Individuals must be at least 18 years of age to join the registry. Inclusion criteria included: playing sports at any level, and age 30 or under. The study was limited to younger athletes to limit recall bias and to minimize the risk of the data being influenced by outdated definitions of concussion, given changes due to rapid advances in the scientific understanding of concussion over the past 20 years [36,37]. In addition, surveying younger athletes increased the likelihood that participants had received formal concussion education due to the proliferation of state concussion laws requiring education of athletes that were put in place between 2009 and 2012 [38]. There were no additional inclusion or exclusion criteria. Our study was conducted in accordance with ethical standards and was granted exemption from Institutional Review Board (IRB) review (2024P000442)."

A study to test every player who shakes their head during a game to see if they have a concussion is needed now to counter this one.

Just a quick conspiracy recap.

NHL executive vice president Colin Campbell hates the Leafs:
  • He was turned down for the Leafs’ GM job in 2006, a position he greatly coveted, turning down other lucrative offers from other teams.
  • He despises Leafs’ assistant coach Marc Savard, who he’s accused of being a “faker” and complained about to officials after he drew calls on his son, current AGM of the Florida Panthers Gregory Campbell.
  • He was the person who decided Matt Cooke would not face any further discipline after he effectively ended Savard’s career with a headshot.
  • After finally being forced to step down from his position as head of player safety, his job would be taken by Brendan Shanahan, who would then go on to take an executive position with the team that Campbell desperately wanted to run.
  • Colin Campbell’s son’s team miraculously manages to accidentally injure players game after game, year after year, mostly avoiding punishment.
This isnt helping your case the way you think it is lmfao

He also wrote comcussion, leading me to believe he, himself, is concussed

He barely touched him.

Most of the damage was done by the shot, or it was some sort of freak occurence.
"Shouldn't have been standing there"

We've seen the outrage when a Leaf does something borderline and there isn't much grace given in terms of suspensions. Remember the stop watches when Hyman hit McAvoy late? That's still my favourite. "Any hit delivered 0.8 seconds after the puck was released has been a suspension" Lolz.

You don't know that they won't. Kadri was suspended multiple times for retaliation. This generation of Leafs just need to learn from Bennet and be more subtle when cheap shotting. Skate by the net look away and fly an elbow through Bob
Listen I'm the first guy who wants to see Bennet get his but yeah nobody is going to do jack shit to him lol

Can’t see the league doing much of anything about this incident. They probably should but until there’s an easier option than doing nothing they’ll stick to sweeping as much as possible under the rug.

Like i posted earlier for all the fans who claim it was a soft hit or a nothing hit.

Get a friend in full hockey gear hit you with is hand or arm on the side or back of the head while your wearing a hockey mask.

See how you feel.
Happens like twice a game in beer league, hockey is a physical sport no ways about it.

I have never vomited on the bench before and I've taken way worse than whatever this was.

Again, random twitter user saying "that is a symptom of a concussion" doesn't make it true

Has it even been reported that he's definitely been diagnosed with a concussion?
Could have been something as simple as shaking your head to dislodge sweat dripping down towards your eyes.

Regardless if incidental or not…didn’t mean to do it…isn’t it supposed to be about protecting the player who got hit in the head? Shouldn’t that be the basis for giving out a suspension (i.e., a game). And then if it’s really blatant and clear that was the primary/intended target (i.e., the head), the number of games should increase significantly?

Shouldn’t that be what both the league and players union is for to really remove as much head contact as possible from the game?

Maybe that would change something about the Panthers mindset? Like play hard but avoid the head?

I wouldn’t expect anything less from FLA and if I were the Leafs you’d better be prepared to a lot more of that…It’s the playoffs - man up and give it back to them!
