Bennett hit on Stolarz (no supplemental discipline) MOD WARNING IN POST #621

Absolute joke of a take. It wasnt an UFC or MMA punch to the bare head. It was a light contact with a f***ing helmet on.
A panthers fan giving Bennet the benefit of the doubt, why I'd never!

I'm sure you'd be dying on this hill defending Wilson if he put Bob in the hospital.

For me if the league managed this really poorly, at the VERY least you throw in a fine to set a standard if it happens again in then you move up for the repeat offence. Could it have been accidental? Maybe but you still can’t run into a goalies head and get absolutely nothing.

The NHL doesn’t want teams reporting concussions publicly so it very well may not be reported as one at any point. Him grabbing his head, puking on the bench, and being taken to the hospital is a very obvious indicator that it is a concussion.

I’m not using a random poster to say it’s a symptom, I’m using the video to show that it wasn’t just Stolarz shaking his head to adjust his helmet/ a routine shake before a face off. It happened in the immediate time after the shot is all.

All the SHAAKE study tells me is people shake their heads after getting hit in it.

What is the % that shakes their head and doesn't have a concussion, we need a study on this to get better data.

"Survey participants were recruited from the international clinical research registry of the Concussion Legacy Foundation"

"Survey participants were recruited from the international clinical research registry of the Concussion Legacy Foundation, a 501 (c) (3) public charity based in the United States with chapters in Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom. Individuals must be at least 18 years of age to join the registry. Inclusion criteria included: playing sports at any level, and age 30 or under. The study was limited to younger athletes to limit recall bias and to minimize the risk of the data being influenced by outdated definitions of concussion, given changes due to rapid advances in the scientific understanding of concussion over the past 20 years [36,37]. In addition, surveying younger athletes increased the likelihood that participants had received formal concussion education due to the proliferation of state concussion laws requiring education of athletes that were put in place between 2009 and 2012 [38]. There were no additional inclusion or exclusion criteria. Our study was conducted in accordance with ethical standards and was granted exemption from Institutional Review Board (IRB) review (2024P000442)."

Worst study ever....

I cant for the life of me see how this is deemed malicious? Completely unbiased (I strongly dislike both teams equally) - An unfortunate out come for sure, but the league got it right for no suspension. Id be LIVID if a player on my team was suspended for that contact.
It's true, Panthers fans should be livid if Bennet got suspended.

HE DIDN'T KILL THE GUY, WHY ARE WE SUSPENDING SAINT BENNET????

We are used to it. Did you see the Domi "crosscheck penalty" last night? We can't even stand in front of people.

So you say, Bennet contact was an ufc type of punch to the back of the head without helmet? Are you restarded or what? Oh yeah, you are. I've ridden motocross my whole life and gotten concussed plenty of times. It takes a quite big of an impact to the head, especially with the helmet on.
Not if I'm doing the punching. I see red and fill the room with uppercuts.

Just a quick conspiracy recap.

NHL executive vice president Colin Campbell hates the Leafs:
  • He was turned down for the Leafs’ GM job in 2006, a position he greatly coveted, turning down other lucrative offers from other teams.
  • He despises Leafs’ assistant coach Marc Savard, who he’s accused of being a “faker” and complained about to officials after he drew calls on his son, current AGM of the Florida Panthers Gregory Campbell.
  • He was the person who decided Matt Cooke would not face any further discipline after he effectively ended Savard’s career with a headshot.
  • After finally being forced to step down from his position as head of player safety, his job would be taken by Brendan Shanahan, who would then go on to take an executive position with the team that Campbell desperately wanted to run.
  • Colin Campbell’s son’s team miraculously manages to accidentally injure players game after game, year after year, mostly avoiding punishment.

That's a two way street.
Who am I a homer for?... I apologize for actually understanding the sport. Pacioretty hammers Barkov from behind dont see any leaf fans talking about that one lol. Its quite clear what happened to stolarz was three contacts to the head. Two shots then the Bennett bump. But what's bennett supposed to do not go to the net? The convenience of the rules and players taking ice only works for when it benefits the leafs?

It feels like when the series started, Leafs fans were sitting on the edge of their seat, waiting for Bennett to do something. This ain't it.

Hope Stolarz is ok though.

Well, if the situation was exactly like this, I'd just simply would have to defend him. Thats what makes us different. I'm not a hyperbolic crybaby like you guys.

This is clearly what the NHL wants, if they didn't they would have suspended Bennett on one of these various accidently on purpose cheap shots
You keep saying this but are you going to go on the ice and do it? Is it gonna be Matthews or Marner or Knies that will take a violent run at Bennet? What's the point of writing paragraphs about retaliation when the leafs are just gonna turn the other cheek and *beat them on the scoreboard*, Like we all know nobody is going to do anything

I'm sure you would, but honestly you might because as I said injuring the other team is part of the Panthers game plan so maybe you think it's normal?

You don't know that they won't. Kadri was suspended multiple times for retaliation. This generation of Leafs just need to learn from Bennet and be more subtle when cheap shotting. Skate by the net look away and fly an elbow through Bob

I have nothing against Bob, but the NHL is telling us that hospitalizing him with intentional headshots is fair game.

Would not be shocked to see Reaves and Clifford called up.
Panthers would prob love to see reaves and Clifford in the line up

Don’t hit our goalie or we will play 2 of the worst hockey players in the league, is not much of a threat/flex

>Bennet sends someone to the hospital
>Nothing happens
>Someone says that someone on the Panthers should get sent to the hospital
>"THIS IS SICK OMG HOW CAN YOU DARE WISH THIS UPON THEM????"

Lmfao
He barely touched him.

Most of the damage was done by the shot, or it was some sort of freak occurence.

Goalies take pucks to the helmet on a nightly basis, what a joke of a comment. You guys will never hold your players accountable, everything is some sort of accident, Bennett, Marchand, Tkachuk aren't 3 of the dirtiest players in the league.

Every excuse imaginable to justify dirty plays on a nightly basis that are just made with the intent to injure.

Garbage organization from top to bottom.
I’m not justifying anything, I said the earlier puck to the face may have exacerbated any injury sustained from Bennett running into him. But continue on with your bullshit ranting about garbage organization. You’re blinded by your emotions

At the same time, you can’t go throwing supplementary discipline at guys based on contact that occurs during a poke check outside the crease.
