Bennett hit on Stolarz (no supplemental discipline) MOD WARNING IN POST #621

Let me guess, we'll hear "league office sent a warning to both teams and will have extra attention on this series" and anything remotely deemed retaliatory is going to actually get penalized. I. E. Leafs can't cross the line the same way.

Of course he's not a repeat offender if he never gets called for this crap.

I agree, you can't spot it in your own post... if people are saying that players are targeted for disciplinary action based on who the player is and they want consistency, a form of consistency is to continue with all players.

I already said he wouldn't be suspended, but at what point does pretending like his actions are accidents stop?
Where was this attitude from ya'll before?

This is very likely correct

In the WSH-MTL series they let multiple headshots go and then made up for it by calling invisible penalties the rest of the series

I think it's pretty hard to justify much vitriol on this play. At the crucial moment, Bennett actually pulls his elbow in. Based on the reaction you'd expect him to have pushed out, but that never happens.

This is a weird one. It's genuinely difficult to understand how the symptoms afterwards could come from this. Maybe Dr. Jim Montgomery can weigh in.

Yup. Bennett doesn't "run the goalie." Doesn't enter the crease. Tucks his arm in to minimize the amount of contact. Just a routine play that may have lead to an unfortunate result.

I don't even think he should be suspended because proving intent is impossible, but here are some other accidental plays by Bennett:

It is weird how he seems to accidentally target the head a lot.

Not going to go down the rabbit hole too much of looking for borderline plays by him, this is just the last two playoffs.

The police (refs) didn't do their job so it's up to the Leafs to do it.

That Bennett didn't receive any payback at all is a huge indictment on the (lack of) character of the Leafs entire roster.

Neutral fan watching this live:

I saw this and thought there has to be more than that hit. Something else must of happened. I was watching it over and over and it looks incrediblely soft and just a weird contact.

Yes I know of Sam's history but to me, he barely hit him here and was just skating in front of the net while Stolarz moved forward
