Bennett hit on Stolarz (no supplemental discipline) MOD WARNING IN POST #621

The media isn't a doctor or a ref so who cares what they have to think.
Let the people in control take care of it.

Well then we can't assume it was accidental because the guy who hit the goalie refused to tell the media his version of events.

Naturally, that's going to lead to speculation.

You realize vomiting can be a symptom of many other conditions, right?

I'd rather find out Stolarz is sick than badly concussed.

Correlation doesn't equal causation.

Coughing up blood can be a symptom of many other conditions, it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s from the gun shot

Hopefully it’s not a concussion but it would be an incredible coincidence for it not to be.

Just don't see a whole lot there honestly. Worthy of 2 minutes and definitely greasy but hard to see a suspension coming on that play.

Hope the prognosis is positive for Stolarz, concussions of that magnitude are a scary business.

A head shake before a face off doesn't signal a concussion in hockey. Every goalie does it.

Clearly the NHL wouldn't put that as a reason to pull a goalie because every goalie would be pulled every game if that was the case.
This. It didn't look weird to me at all. You see goalies do that before every faceoff.

Aren’t you the guy that used to have the Knies injury from Bennett as his display picture?

What are you talking about?

Goalies do that all the time, it's just getting comfortable in the helmet. Reality is, he didn't go down on the shot, he went down on the Bennet hit. He was fine and able until then.

Could have been a concussion on the shot and Benny contact created the delayed effect. Sudden and direct contact twice in a short period of time can do that [delay, they have a term for it but can't remember OTOH]

This is typical HF. When it comes to Leafs players dudes here always blame the Leaf player getting hurt instead of the dirty player. Gaslighters all around
I don't get all this trendy "gaslighter" stuff, but I sure see a lot of Dr. Recchi's around.

Kind of think I'm done interacting with randoms on the internet about hockey when I read the shit people post these days.

A guy puking and being taken to the hospital is not a good thing and you wish the best for that player.........

Unless he plays for the Leafs?

Guy is an expert on concussions. He understands this stuff more than most anyone on this board. Maybe there are more concussions than we even know about.

If people are truly concerned about concussions, goalie takes puck off the helmet, causing helmet to fall off you take him off the ice.

That is the safe thing to do.

The Bennet thing probably took a very bad situation and made it worse

There will be a suspension only because the Leafs and their media will lobby for it.

The same way they lobbied for Austin Matthews' undeserved Hart.

You don’t make contact with a goalie like that. Just reckless and now Stolarz is out.
is this still a JOKE to you guys? Is the League going to step in and do the right thing? if not I hope Bettman gets sued for allowing all the head hunting to continue

Leaf team doctors should be held responsible as Stiolarz likely had a concussion after getting hit in the head with the puck early in the 1st. Why did they leave him in?

What does Bobrovsky have to do with any of this? That's just caveman mentality. Go after Bennett if anything.

If Bennett doesnt get something, it's probably open season on anyone no? Is there a more cowardly move than blindsiding a keeper with an elbow?....and the guy gets stretchered to the hospital?

The smartest move that DOPS could do here is to give him a single game. Panthers would sulk but eat it as they know the Leafs are probably without Stolarz for the series and DOPS could say "hey, we did something!"

I dont think they are all that smart though but we will see.

Sure, but the NHLPA would argue against it. That's the problem.

How many goalies in NHL history have gotten a concussion off a shot to the mask? 0?
