Enjoying the yearly holiday to Europe.

Currently in Brugge. Here's a couple shots from today. I leave for Amsterdam tomorrow where I'll be visiting with some family (sister in-law & husband).

Brugge is beautiful, very quiet, and the people are lovely. It's very small, so this has been a bit more laid back and relaxing than is tradition with city oriented holidays. Lovely though.

"Venice of the North," very pretty, very historic. Keep the photos coming, and you might just change my mind about visiting The Continent some day. Safe travels.

Brussels was an ugly shithole when I went there in 07,
Genk and Brugge are two awesome cities though.

Enjoy AMS, gonna be there in May (again)

Try Liège someday and Brussels will appear almost beautiful in comparison. Charleroi is another excellent option.

Amsterdam could be nice without the overt weed/sex/beer tourism, but as it is now I'd rather go elsewhere in the Netherlands.

Welcome! :)

Brugge, Gent and Antwerp are the best cities IMO. Someone mentioned Genk which I don't understand because there is literally nothing there.
Brussels I'm not a fan of either. And all big cities in the southern (French speaking) part of Belgium are hellholes. Especially Charleroi. If you go south, you go for nature, wildlife, and cosy small villages.

We didn't get to stay in Brussels, only trained through it. It looks rad but that doesn't say much. I trust you know what your talking about. Probably a place I'll visit for a couple days in the future. Not the type I'd plan a whole trip around though. I think next year we want to fly to Italy and come up through to London, so might be a good step there for a minute. Bruges was lovely though, despite the shit weather.

It's nice in amsterdam today though so I'll try to grab a couple shots. We are visiting family here and have been running around like crazy. Have some free time today thankfully.

Bruges is usually pretty dead during winter, you'd probably be best of visiting sometime from May through October.

I don't like Brussels but that's kinda due to some bad experiences I had there, objectively I have to say it does have some nice places so I would advice to just go see for yourself. It also has some places you really don't want to go anywhere near though

Bruges is absolutely beautiful. It's a very walkable city. It seems like a place most people go to on a day trip but I spent six days there.

Brussels didn't look very nice at all even though I only saw a little from the train from the airport to Bruges.
