GDT: Belarus vs Sweden (Mod warning in post #101)

Agree Olofsson and Rakell on the same line is not working, they seemed to have moved Rakell to the Lindholm line to fill in for Klingberg. Hope it is permanent, it immediately looked better. But I'd like them to move Lindberg to center, our to indented top centers, Lundeström and Holmberg, are not working. I'd like to see them try something like this going forward:

A. Kempe - Lindberg - Olofsson
Rakell - Rasmussen - Sörensen
Lundeström - Wingerli - Holmberg
Friberg - Lindholm - Klingberg

Yup, having Rakell and Olofsson on the same line isn't smart at all. The classic line is a sniper, playmaker and an energy player. Like Rakell - Zibanejad - Järnkrok who dominated.

The loss against Denmark was embarrassing though but we did it on purpose, we want to improve the level of hockey in Denmark and in the entire Nordic area, this should inspire them. Next time we will lose against Norway giving them some inspiration too, it's important chosing the non-important games though.

As much as it sucks to see this Swedish decline, its incredible to see Belarus have quality players and show that they can be competitive.

Yes, for sure. It's really fun that smaller nations can grow and become more competitive. That doesn't stop you from feeling really sad your team plays like donkey manure though.
 
Yeah, if lose this, we can forget the QF. The only positive about that is that it will lead to Garpenlöv being fired. He can't possibly keep his job if he misses the quaterfinals, have Sweden ever done that? Not for the last 50 years at least

It's a very even pool.. you could lose here but beat Russia and the Swiss and finish first too!

1937 in the United Kingdom was the last time Sweden did not reach the quarterfinals. They finished 10th in this tournament.

Not sure that's how the inbred buddy system works :( And if it is Monten or someone like that is next in line

I think if we miss the QF, not even the loyalty system can save him. There will be too much pressure on the federation. If somehow manage to get a QF spot despite playing like garbage and then being soundly beaten, he will stay. But missing the QF, that is not acceptable. I will personally walk to the federation and post an angry note in true Swedish fashion otherwise ;)
