Bednar has to be fired right?

Firing Bednar, especially quickly, would fit the MO of chaos that Chris MacFarland created.

Special teams decided the series, lets make that clear. If they decide to make coaching changes, so be it.

But CMac tore this roster apart and traded a future HHOFer for more depth. That depth did not show up against a Dallas team missing Heiskanen and Robertson. And that future HHOFer just scorched Colorado's ass.

All of this points back to the top, IMO. Two first round exits in three seasons after winning the Stanley Cup.

Not at all uncommon. Happened to Pittsburgh, Washington and St. Louis as well.

Idk, if Bednar gets fired it's because Macfarlands replacement wants his own guy, not because of anything he did.

Atleast that's the way I see it.

Trading a superstar to see him torch you in the first round is legendary mismanagement.

He basically rearranged the roster at the deadline, he just didn't do that good of a job.
He hasn't done a good job for a few years now. Very active, but with very mixed results.

Dude has blown massive amounts of assets on a #2C and all attempts have failed. To top it all off he had that center in Kadri, but allowed him to walk despite the player wanting to stay.

He was always a Disco Dan clone. Won a cup with an insanely stacked team that would have won even with Willie Dejardins and Tavis Green as HC. If the AVS had a good coach all these year they most likely win at least another cup by now.

or avs keep him then mikko walks at FA and avs gets nothing.....

No Heiskanen, No Robertson alone should have made the Avs the overwhelming favorite.

But blowing a 2 goal lead and losing in regulation in game 7 with 15 minutes left? How does any coaching staff survive this
Very easily, in fact.

His lineup decisions are questionable (literally everyone saw that Necas and MacKinnon didn't mesh well together) and his coaching adjustments consisted of telling his players to skate harder.

Any time the Avs play a team that can muddy up the neutral zone they fall flat barring a miracle. This isn't anything new. He has no answer to this style of play.

This is legit worse though.

Straight up - if the Oilers had not resigned Draisaitl last summer, and traded him mid season - and then he ended up on the Kings and had a 1.8 ppg performance capped off with a 4 point this period to lead a game 7 come back... I would never watch hockey ever again in my entire life.

I bet like a third to half of AVS season ticket holders have already cancelled their seats.

Rantanen walked past multiple Aves defenders on that wraparound goal. Horrible defense when your up in a game 7. Never seen defense that bad in a game this important
Yeah, they gave him so much room on that first goal too. Their defense in the 3rd was horrendous. Makar's broken stick and penalty changed the game completely.
