For anyone who was worried
I’m betting we see a NOTICEABLE improvement in his skating next season. Gonna have a burst that wasn’t there before.

In no way should you be doing a bridge, wait around and figure out whatever number it takes to get to 8 years, which can be next offseason as well.So... Serious business. Do we try for that 4 year bridge contract at 8-9M AAV or just say "F it" & throw the bag at him after next season?
That's true, but in negotiations anything can happen (however unlikely it may be).In no way should you be doing a bridge, wait around and figure out whatever number it takes to get to 8 years, which can be next offseason as well.
Bridge is for guys you aren't sure if they're going to be part of your core or not. Which is most guys, but Bedard is a 1st overall pick and already productive in NHL. If Bedard is a bust, your whole rebuild is a bust, simple as that. All bridging does is allow him to re-consider longterm plans if things aren't going great and make him even more expensive in your "window" if they are.
He's probably top 10 in the league for money made via sponsorshipsI'm sure he wants to get paid but his entire answer sort of sounded like 'I don't really care about making every dollar possible I just want to win'
Takes two to tango thoughShould sign him to the extension after his sophomore slump…depressed value.
Yep.8 years $12m would be amazing. Lock him in for as long as you can. He'll either be worth that AAV soon enough or our rebuild takes a huge nose dive if Bedard doesn't pan out. I'd rather avoid him taking the Matthews route of bending us over every 4-5 years
you're not allowed to say that8x$8.75 book it
Not me. I’m a cool dudeyou're not allowed to say that
you'll be crucified for suggesting that contract
You know how everyone loves the Sharks rebuild and hates the Hawks rebuild? Where do you think that’s coming from. Like I’ve said before. The hawks have been losing the PR battles all year until the very last bit of the season. That stuff matters somewhat. I’m not gonna say that Mitch Marner will decide based on Biz or other nationals but it sets the perception and perception becomes realityWho gives a f*** about Biz though?
why did you pose this as a statement.Where do you think that’s coming from.
Why didn’t you use a capital letter to start your sentence.why did you pose this as a statement.
it's not as good because you didn't do the same thing you are asking me why i didn't do it. you are no fun. boo!Why didn’t you use a capital letter to start your sentence.
lets be honest. if it wasn't for Bedard we'd all be murdering each other right now during this rebuild.
It has certainly been a trying few seasons.lets be honest. if it wasn't for Bedard we'd all be murdering each other right now during this rebuild.
Things could always be worse we could be buffalo whose been rebuilding since 2011 and is now on rebuild core #3 now. Or we can even be Toronto fans who have been a giant meme for playoff failure, or even Hab fans who were stuck watching a non-contender the last 20 years only to get completely bitch slapped in their one and only finals appearence and never even having an offensive superstar that is fun to watch during the entire time as well. Things are so bad they are excited over Suzuki hitting 80 pts.People are just impatient by nature. I think it shows more with some of the younger fans as well. The Hawks were absolute dog shit until I was in my mid 20’s while some of the younger fans grew up with Kane and Toews. Matter of perspective I guess.
