The endless misinformation and BS in all these Bedard-bashing threads on the main boards just keeps spreading and spreading. And there’s so much of it that, if you didn’t know any better, you’re gonna start thinking it’s true/fact. All that hype + him being drafted by the most hated team in the league has all the salty fans of opposing teams lining up to take their shot. Disgusting. Human beings are so incredibly flawed.
Well buckle up because the hate is going to grow more when Schaefer or Misa are drafted...

Yup. And then McKenna too the following year. I have high hopes.

I would like to but honestly there are a lot of times I just shake my head and move on… the nonsense just makes me shake my head.

I don’t blame you, sometimes it just isn’t worth it. I’d refrain myself if I had better self control lol

I’ve got those threads on ignore tbh. Bedard has played 121 games so far. Maybe 1% of non-Hawks posters have watched more than a dozen of Bedard’s game so far. It’s entirely narrative driven based on stupid draft hype. It’s the same with them thinking San Jose has a better rebuild going for them than we do

What in the f*** does Bissonette know about playing the right way? He has 22 career points in 202 games. The guy has drank too much Pink Whitney and it’s rotted his brain. I’m glad Bedard told them all to f*** off
202 games and probably played 202 minutes. You can barely say he even played. He was there to get punched in the face. I know usually even the crappiest NHL players are so much better than the average Joe, but I do not believe that to be the case here.

I guess for me its just....i can't help but want to defend our guy, and its also just purely defending what is right vs what is wrong in general you could say. I've taken notice to how few there are like myself that bother fighting the good fight, and tbh I don't blame you for ignoring them or anyone else for refusing to take part. Often times its not worth it, i try to resist myself as much as i can. Just sometimes its too much to take and i have to call out some of the more extreme BS.

And yeah on top of the anti-Bedard stuff its crazy how all of a sudden the Sharks pool of 23 and under talent is somehow now light years beyond that of our own. We have Bedard and then absolutely nothing else...allegedly. On top of that you'll read stuff like "they've been at it for years and years and they have nothing to show for it" when in reality this rebuild is still in its early stages and drafting 98 was essentially the starting point(a complete 180 compared to when we drafted 19 and 88 relative to that rebuild).

I wasted way to much of my life arguing in the Calder thread last year. I learned my lesson. Bedard's play is going to speak for itself soon enough. Just keep your fingers crossed the stars will align and we'll be knocking the #8 seeded Sharks out of the first round in a few years time.

Oh I'm definitely keeping my fingers crossed for the near future....and i know i keep saying this but the thing that excites me more than anything else right now is i truly believe we're gonna have a solid chance at McKenna next season. I think we'll be as "in the discussion" as anyone else, we're still gonna be bad enough even with the wave of young talent incoming plus other upgrades. If we can somehow make that happen just imagine the fun. That's my ultimate dream scenario. And McKenna would be coming in at a time more similar to Kane and Toews when our rebuild is nearing completion and we're ready to spend big on the next "Hossa". The highest of high hopes. But why not.

No doubt, sometimes have to double check that I didn't miss a 10+ game scoring drought and Bedard is sitting at 0.6 PPG or something. Just did an around the horn on the scoring lists of guys on the other really low scoring teams. Like dang, how many people realize the Number 2 pick in Bedard's draft has 18 points in 47 games and that's with a high shooting %? Yeah so whatever about usage, what type of player they'd be if they each hit their ceiling, and what have you, but there's not a peep about that level of production for instance. A lot of it comes down to being much of the same people that legitimately argue the Hawks should have had their Cups taken away, and annoyance about hype entering the League, which is one of these things that doesn't actually matter.

Exactly, they're just Hawks haters and they're venting. Taking out their frustration on Bedard just because we happened to draft him and it only fuels their rage towards our franchise in general.

Give me Schaefer, then McKenna, and then whoever the top available FA forward is in 2026/27.

The return of the Chicago Blackhawks. Back for revenge on all those who have dared to disrespect us this past decade. None of you are safe.
They'd have to finish last place this or next year for that

I'm rather confident in our ability to finish dead last right here in 24/25. Next season we'll be....shall we say...3rd last? I think 3rd last sounds good to me. And then the hockey gods will take care of the rest.
We could, but the sharks are rough. Maybe if we finish 2nd and stay 2nd..
And Buffalo wins the lottery. I imagine they couldn't possibly draft Shaefer

Sharks traded their #1 goalie and best forward. Hawks never even went that far. I actually wonder if they are going to set themselves back a bit, especially if askorov struggles or take a more normal time to develop. He’s pretty young for a goalie. Georgie is crap.

Bissonette’s stats were garbage at any and every level, the only reason he made it to the NHL is because he was a face puncher and he wasn’t even very good at that.

I don't understand the discourse that someone has to be a very good player to be able to learn, coach, or explain the game? You don't think the guy picked up a thing or two after playing 202 NHL games under NHL level coaching staffs and around other players? Including ECHL and AHL its way more pro games.

Same thing was said about Luke Richardson as if that means they can't be good coaches. Its nonsense. Jon Cooper didn't sniff any high level hockey and he's an excellent coach.

The only part of Biz's criticism that was off-base to me was the dramatic tenor of it. The plays themselves- yeah he needs to clean some stuff up off-puck. But it's not as if cleaning up those details is the difference between this team being a bottom feeder and playing winning hockey. Just isn't true at this stage.

Yeah, despite what a lot of people have said here, Biz has a point about some of Bedards game, and no doubt that Bedard knows it. Its just tough to rag on him too much when you know he has to do it out of necessity. He has no one that can play with him, no one that can finish, he's on an island. He's just trying to do too much to make up for it.

Agreed. Hank had a much more reasonable take on the situation.

A lot of this can be cleaned up with even a mediocre NHL quality coach. Sorenson might have been doing a great job with younger players in Rockford, but he's an awful NHL coach and I'd be shocked if he ever got a shot at it again.

I feel bad for Bedard that these are the coaches he's had to work with so far and that should be held against KD.
