Bedard or Celebrini

Question is simple. Who do you take to start your franchise with?

Bedard has game breaking hands, speed and a wicked shot.

Celebrini has a 200 ft game, and is a center, while being larger.

Who do you choose if you want to win cups? Who has more of an impact on the game right now, and in the future?

i was looking for this very topic after watching the game last night. I firmly believe Bedard is going to be an elite producer but very very very tiny sample size Celebrini looked better to me. Zero surprise if/when Bedard is better but so far in limited view just against my team and if I knew nothing of either i'd pick Celebrini.

I'm gunna find it funny if Celebrini actually ends up better in the end. My god the Bedard hype for those entire 2 years leading up to him being drafted. They barely made a fuss about Celebrini probably because they were so tired of pumpin Bedard for 2 years straight.

Could easily see Bedard ending up the better offensive weapon but when all is said and done, Celebrini has the more successful career overall.

Very hard question to answer really. I've seen a fair amount of Chicago games and Bedard looks like the real deal, but has some question marks too (size and speed)....but I think he'll be good. I rarely see San Jose games....1) timing and 2) just never been a team I'm interested in watching.....that said, even if I watched their games, I would have only seen Celebrini play 3 games....so would really have nothing to go on....fairly anyway.

yeah that's what i'm thinking. Might end up a kopitar situation where it takes him his whole career before people acknowledge how underappreciated he had been (relative other elite players).

I appreciate responses like this. Celebrini is amazing. 18 year old Patrick Marleau is the second best rookie I’ve been able to watch up close and Celebrini is miles better. He has an amazing shot combined with great vision and creativity. Add a high motor and active stick in all 3 zones. Plus we are hearing that his work ethic at practice and off the ice is unparalleled. We have a winner.

McKenna will be better than both. But make me pick I go with Macklin. But you can't go wrong with Bedard either. Both really nice kids. Apparently Macklin's youngest brother is going to be a stud. Seven more years and he can come back home. Bedard in six. Right about the time Miller and Peter's contracts expire.
