That's really not that impressive of a feat considering who was competing with for the team lead. Especially when you consider how poor his 200 foot game was.

Michkov's first 28 games has at least as impressive, if not more so. He's doing it in a reduced role while playing a complete game.
So, just so we are clear, Bedard’s teammates don’t matter when we point out that he is on an island offensively and would likely have much higher point totals on a team with more talent, not to mention have someone to make plays to get him the puck in space and keep the opposition honest. But they do matter when we point out how much more he produces than anyone else on his team despite being among the youngest players in the league. Gotcha. Thank god we wayward Hawks fans gave you as a bastion of objectivity when it comes to Bedard.

I am not even going to bother to start in Michkov and his “complete” game.

Show me one time where I made that claim.

You're right, I've been constantly overrating him, I must be biased. I thought he'd score 38 goals 78 points last year and he fell well short. This year I though he'd be north of 85 points, and he's again falling short.

Not surprised, considering you have nothing to add to the subject.

You are literally in every single Bedard thread constantly downplaying him and ignoring the situation he is in as far as quality of teammates until now, when it is convenient for you to do so.

No, I have nothing to add to someone who describes Michkov's game as complete. That is not an argument I am going to waste my time on.

Yeah, like when I said this yesterday?
He's much more than just a goal scorer. The guy sees the ice at an elite level.
Or when I overrated him in each of the last two seasons?

Relative to Bedard, he's Patrice Bergeron. He's not an elite two way guy, but he's been very responsible in his last 20 games or so.

But you don't watch him, so you wouldn't know.

To be fair he wouldn't even see the ice under Torts if he wasn't at least somewhat defensively aware.

You were literally comparing him to Reichel yesterday in an effort to downplay him. You have posted hundreds of times throughout basically every Bedard thread that shows up on this site, all to the same effect. You can give up the, "who me?" routine.

I also compared him to Kucherov, was that an attempt to downplay him?

The reality is I'm often in these threads defending him. But obviously when a guy gets as overhyped as Bedard, and fans buy into it, realistic fans (or in my case, overly optimistic) get labeled as haters.

I have a preference for high end two way centers.

Bedard has some question marks: skating, size, strength, play away from puck. No doubt he will improve these, but he has a lot of work ahead of him. Hard to imagine him going toe to toe with the best as a center. Wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up at wing. Could see him being one of the scariest PP players though. Kucherov scary.

Im gonna say this, put Bedard in the joyful locker room of young talent on the Sharks team instead of Celebrini and he's not slumping anymore. Celebrini would also struggle on the Blackhawks at this moment. Its very hard to shine bright when your whole team is pulling you down. Bedard, Celebrini, Michkov is my guess

Bedard hasn't been slumping for a few weeks now. He's got the swagger back.

That said, both guys are on terrible teams, but Chicago was supposed to be better than San Jose. Bedard is surrounded by veteran leaders and great young talent.

He did exactly the same thing with Lafreniere (for years) until Laf finally got top six minutes and almost immediately started showing the promise he was drafted for while helping Panarin to a career year at age 33.

Re: Bedard, once Chicago gets a player who can pass Bedard the puck (obviously Chicago is not surrounding Bedard with "great young talent" what a ridiculous claim) and / or Bedard puts on some lower body strength, then we'll be able to better evaluate Bedard's NHL ceiling.

In the meantime I think a player as talented / hyped as Bedard is going to have haters, this is an internet msg board. In a weird way it's kind of a compliment to have some rando Devils fan so obsessed with him, esp considering how good the Devils are right now -- instead of cheering for his team (which is a legitimate SC contender imo) he's going out of his way to waste energy trying punch down one of the youngest players on one of the league's worst teams. Nothing more really needs to be said here imo.

Anyway, pretty sure most ppl who follow and / or lurk in these threads see right through him. You're far from the only one.

Outside Korchinski and Nazar, both who were called up for the first time in the last two weeks (Nazar called up this past Friday), Hawks have not had a lot of "great young talent". The young guys of note on the team have been Bedard himself, Lukas Reichel, and Alex Vlasic. Everyone else is in their mid-twenties or older.
