The more we lose the more callups we’re going to see. I believe we can have an expanded roster after the trade deadline?

Roy is not a speedster so if he’s on the second line Newhook will have to gear it down playing with two below average skaters.

Honestly, I’ve been shocked watching Liane play recently? He is extremely slow and overtly disengaged. I was excited to have him when the news first broke but his play recently is counterproductive to MSL’s M.O. of high tempo forecheck/backcheck. Cheers

Roy looked good with Newhook at C last year before he got hurt so hopefully those 2 can build some chemistry. The Evans line has cooled off offensively so I think moving Armia to the Newhook line would help on the defensive side.

Caufield - Suzuki - Slaf
Roy - Newhook - Armia
Heineman - Evans - Laine
Anderson - Dvorak - Gallagher

If lines are to be tweaked I'd be curious to swap Laine and Slaf for those.

It was better with Gallagher. And that veteran line is getting absolutely hammered recently, so they could use a player like Armia to help out defensively.

I guess we needed to get softer and easier to play against. Newhook and Roy lol, mother of god I'm sure the league is shaking in their boots. Beck being punished for finishing hits, needs to sit for the second coming of Sebastien Bordeleau

Roy has been exceptional in Laval for a while. What I have noticed is his improved play in all 3 zones. He is even showing some grit with alot of push back during scrums.
I guess Newhook is moving to center for now.

Let's be honest...Beck is on the cusp but he needs more AHL time.

Beck is our 4th line center next year. I think his future with us is set.

I'd rather get Roy here so we can see how he does down the stretch. Let's see how he does in his audition.

I think you're harder on Roy than many.
Perhaps. But I will acknowledge that Roy has looked more engaged over the past two games. But Roy's lack of pace will always be an obstacle to his success at the next level. With Gallagher, Laine, Armia, etc. we need to get faster up front, not slower.

Should’ve acquired some depth. Guys from Laval at this point probably won’t move the needle, especially playing 10 minutes a game. Regardless, they’re slipping in the standings, so they probably won’t make the playoffs anyway. I didn’t think they’d win out west. They’ve done better than I thought they would though.

Probably makes sense to see a bit more about what we have in Roy before offseason to see whether he can be part of the roster plan or how appealing he might be as a trade chip.

I’ve written off Roy.
Hope he proves me wrong.
His future is hanging by a thread but I am not ready to completely write him off. With a new group of prospects arriving yearly Roy is probably on his last chance, he needs to seize it.

Roy is our most talented player in Laval so it made sense to call him up.

Beck isn't quite NHL ready still. More playing time in the AHL (and hopefully long playoff run) will do him good.

Beck had some flashes yes but also looked like Maggie Simpson at times. He will be back.

Habs need scoring hopefully Roy use this opportunity and never sees Laval again.

I don’t think Newhook needs to gear down. He’s a guy you want to make entry and use his wingers as outlets once they’re in the zone. Roy isn’t slow either but he’s no Newhook speed wise. Nobody is on the team

Roy is playing for his future here, a bad stint and he could be Euro bound. He has the skills to play in the NHL, let's see if the will is there.
