Good move. I thought it was unfair to Beck to throw him into a top 6 role late in a playoff race. The games he got should be good for him heading into training camp next year.

But it will be mentally taxing on MSL to constantly shelter that line. The Roy-Newhook-Laine will need Desharnais-style minutes. He can't just casually roll the lines.

Newhook looked good at C when his wingers thought the game as simply as him. North-south, dump and chase. If you ask him to be a centre with skilled players, he’s out of his element.

True, but the Dvorak spot is pretty much his for next season so let him learn it. Roy is a floater - I don't care to see him play for the Habs.

Why don't we shove Dvorak in the press box with Pezzetta and play Beck and Roy?

He looked okay when playing with Monahan but during his 4-game stint this year, he looked disinterested and not moving his feet away from the puck. He was late on the forecheck and created next to nothing.

I was in disbelief of what I saw from him. I assumed he would build on his experience from last season, but instead, he looked very unprepared to play. I don't know if it was a conditioning issue or not.

Beck looked like he wasn’t ready to me. He got a taste of what to work on. I like this move, I’m not particularly high on Beck. He might end a up a serviceable 3rd liner.
