I can see Poles giving Trey Smith a blank check as a UFA. But boy... I wonder how much they would consider Ashton Jeanty now in the draft to be their Jahmyr Gibbs. Swift is not it.

Yeah first order of business is fire everyone and hire all new people.Okay Ben, first order of business, get Chris Morgan as far away from Halas Hall as you can.
Never made any sense at the supposed frontrunner. Ridiculous reporting from the NFL media.Quick someone check on Raiders fans.
Losers!

If you are not paying big money for your OT, then you can afford to, on a rookie QB contract, to pay for OG. Good teams like KC, have to decide how to spend their money. Paying Humphrey at C. Thuney has been well paid at OG, though playing LT. Thuney has 1 more year left at $16 mill cash and $27 mill cap hit. Could be a cap causality and they instead pay Smith. $11 mill dead cap on Thuney should they move on. But, KC also needs upgrades at OT, so could decide to spend cap there as a priority.Said exactly that a day or two, like almost word for word.
Smith, Jeanty, 2nd round DL/OL with those two picks.
At least JAX has Lawrence, even though I'm starting to worry a bit that he'll pull a Luck if these injuries issues don't stop. Raiders don't have a QB, nor do they have a way to get a QB.Only made sense to keep clicks going. Even Jacksonville never made any sense.
No QB, so made zero sense why a top HC candidate would go there. Top 2 guys in Vrabel and Johnson off the board. Not really exciting at who is left.Never made any sense at the supposed frontrunner. Ridiculous reporting from the NFL media.
Saw Lawrence and talked to him and his wife a bit in line getting coffee. Was in a sling. Nice kid though. We just talked about his newborn never mentioned football or that I knew who he was.At least JAX has Lawrence, even though I'm starting to worry a bit that he'll pull a Luck if these injuries issues don't stop. Lawrence was really good, probably top 10, in his sophomore season until he got injured in season 3.Only difference being Luck was actually good if not elite at times.
Run game worked in Det because of their OL, with Sewell and Decker at OT, Glascow at C. They had to let OG Jackson go who went to the Rams for a big contract. 2025 is a deep RB class. Should get a solid to good RB even into round 3.It is wild that there are people out there looking at Johnson's play calling and schemes, seeing him call play action more than any other play caller in the league, and coming to the conclusion that he needs a statue in the pocket like Goff, and not that the limitation in that part of his play calling lies with Goff.
I'm excited to see what he can do with Williams. I'd expect that combination to unlock a new dimension of Johnson's play calling.
I'm very interested to see what they do on RB. I can't imagine Johnson is too enamored getting back together with Swift, and the run game is very important in his offense.

Hot take: Jeanty may be less of an overdraft at #10 than the O-lineman they will probably draft.Swift should be transitioned to an overpaid 3rd down back (or just eat the money) and we should look for someone for early downs. That someone should not be over drafting Jeanty.
Bears on day 1 and 2 with their 4 picks (2nd from CAR), should be looking at IOL, while adding at least 1 veteran in free agency, a RB, DL help. Can add another WR or TE2 on day 3, but not as big a priority as the other positions, unless one or two are filled via free agency.Hot take: Jeanty may be less of an overdraft at #10 than the O-lineman they will probably draft.
But this draft is crazy deep at RB. Grab one later.
