OT: Bears & NFL Talk 103

Mike Greenberg wants the Bears to trade whatever it takes to Pittsburgh for Tomlin.

While I would love to get Tomlin, I don't want the Bears to trade picks for a coach.
I’d do it but I’m biased. Always been a fan.

not whatever it takes though what’s that?

Wouldn’t trade picks for Tomlin, might be ok if they did it for Shanahan. Would love if they did it for KOC.

Really? Find someone else then. Not giving up either of our seconds.
Let me make it clear, none of this is any of this is even a rumor. This all started because of Mike Greenberg wants the Bears to do. It's all speculative based off that. With that said the Steelers did con Poles out of a 2nd rd pick for Claypool. Based off that, to me it stand to reasons that they'd ask for firsts for one of the better HCs in the league.

With that said, I believe that unless Tomlin wants out, the Steelers won't even entertain the idea of moving on from Tomlin.

C'mon, Dallas, sign that knob to an extension.

They are going to f*** this up too aren't they. They f***ing f*** everything up.

why exactly would the steelers do this...they continue to be a competitive team under Tomlin despite a really bad offense some years, if they ever figure out that side of the ball again and get back to the big ben/bell/ab type years they're right back to a really good team

why are the bears wasting their time interviewing OC's from coaching staffs that are being fired, absolute waste of time...you say you have the most coveted job in the league then you waste your time interviewing coaches that nobody wants, the list of interviews should be short and the check to get the desired coach they want/need should be blank

There's been talk for a few years in Steeler nation that Tomlin may have run his course there. They are always good, but usually flop right out of the playoffs. They seem to be stuck on a treadmill going nowhere.

I'd take him - but for no more than a 2nd rounder. But the offense problem that you mentioned is still there. Is Tomlin going to fix our offense, when he cant even fix his own?

Harrison Graham said the interview with Ben Johnson is completed.

There's reports that the Raiders and Tom Brady really want Ben Johnson. I am skeptical that the McCaskey's will offer money competitive to what the Raiders would offer. So while he's my #1 choice, it's feeling less and less likely.

BTW what is up with Ron Rivera getting an interview? No thanks.

Early in the process now...but my guess at this point is Pete Carroll is our next head coach.

Yeah, and is it a Tomlin issue that they can't get an elite QB to match up in the AFC with the guys he's going up against consistently in the playoffs. Seems unfair to him to fire him because he's losing to teams everyone is losing to consistently right now. I'd take him in a heartbeat too, actually think Vrabel is sort of a similar hire and would get the Bears back to at least in the mix for a playoff spot but would he be the best for Caleb, probably not...so if you want Tomlin and he's not available then Vrabel is next best up in that mold

given how much term/aav Davis was willing to give Gruden they're going to probably have the biggest offer on the table if they really want him and that doesn't exactly bode well for the Bears because while Raiders have been dysfunctional Brady gives them instant credibility, and every team offering Johnson big money is probably going to be equally dysfunctional if not more unless a job like Cincy, Dallas or Philly etc opens up...completely ready for some big brain bears no name hire or McCarthy at this point
