He’s entering his next media phase of hot takes which leads to douchery
They're trying to build a network and doing that means being on every day, talking way too much, running out of things to say, and needing clicks which means hot takes like you mention. Its just a bad network.

10th pick is going to lead to a great pick, but I'd probably have been a bit nervous if we were even 11th.

Guys who I think are an absolute lock to go before us would be Ward, Sanders, Hunter, Johnson, Carter, and Graham IMO. I'd also be pretty confident that McMillan goes before us too.

I think we'll be left with who hasn't been taken out of Banks, Campbell, or Williams at that point and I'll be thrilled for any of the 3 to join the Bears... With a bias towards it hopefully being one of the OL.
I really liked their beating the Packers in Green Bay, but man I would have liked to have the #9 pick instead. Williams worries me quite a bit. Outcomes of drafting athletic freak defensive end with lackluster production have a vast range. They could be Danielle Hunter. They could also be Travon Walker or Tyree Wilson.

Difference was that Hunter was a day 3 pick IIRC. The other 2 were top 7 picks. Those guys you can swing for the fences with on day 3.

Bears, top priority is DL and IOL. So IOL is either via free agency since they have Wright on a rookie deal still so have the cap room to pay an OG or early round 2 which is where they are rated mostly. Later in the first onwards.

Neat that the top 3 teams in on the Ben Johnson sweepstakes right now must have seen the reporting about his wanting alignment with the GM and strong understanding of previous mistakes from ownership, and responded with retaining Poles, Wolf, and Baalke.
Sadly for Johnson, those 3 clubs also have the best QBs of the open positions. Jets don't, Saints, you know what you have in mid 30's Carr.

Exactly. I don't see a clear choice at #10 if Banks and Campbell are both off the board.

Though this is largely not worth discussing right now. Especially for OL, I don't really think it's worthwhile discussing until actual scouts start leaking their rankings closer to the Senior Bowl. I can say when I think a QB throws the ball well to the right players. I can say when I think a WR runs good routes. I can't say much about OL play other than when it seems like they don't trip over their own feet and can anchor against a bullrush.

I've heard that people REALLY liked Josh Simmons' play this season before his knee injury. To the point where, had he kept that up, he'd probably be OT1 in the draft.

I prefer beating GB over having a higher draft pick.

I think that's an interesting quote from a person with a finger on the pulse for the Patriots. Certainly not denying the idea that the Patriots are rushing through the process, which I would guess he would do if this were just happenstance.

I mean if its a guy like Johnson wanting to go to NE then you get that shit done ASAP

It would be dumb to let him talk to other teams if he wants to be part of organization

Pierce fired, so Vegas job is open.

Can't imagine that will massively affect the top of the crop in the job market. The Raiders job is... rough.

Its Raiders so I am going to guess

Coach Prime and trading up to draft his son!

They can't officially hire Johnson until after the Lions are out of the playoffs. So they have at least until the divisional round to get everything in order to make that seem legit.

I'm guessing this is about Vrabel.

I have a bad feeling that we're going to find out how unattractive of a landing spot the Bears appear to be with this ownership and management.

The fact that there's only 32 gigs in the league is a benefit, but if we find out that post BBB Patriots and the literal Jaguars are more attractive for top-tier coaches, that's gonna be a stinger.
Any AFC South job is more attractive than the Bears just because the road to the playoffs is so much easier. The Texans win it by default for the foreseeable future and yet they're a joke to the rest of the playoff teams.

Would have been dope if we took the haul and had MHJ to pair with... checks notes... Shedeur Sanders, Cam Ward or Milroe!
Pick wouldn’t have had to be MHJ, and let’s not pretend Caleb looked like a young Dan Marino.

Dan Marino he was not, but he had the most all-purpose yards for a Bears player ever, as a rookie. He's also the only rookie Bear QB to ever defeat the Packers. Not just in GB, literally the only Bears rookie QB to beat GB period.

But to me what was most impressive of him was to not just throw the towel in. He got his ass kicked, had a joke of a coaching staff, and kept a positive attitude and stuck up for his offensive line when everyone was criticizing them. It would have been really easy for any QB to throw the towel in on this season with everything going on.

Here is to hoping we see a huge leap in year 2.

I think having HC and Son at QB can work In college. But, for pros not a good thing for the player. There will always be players who don’t like the coach. Don’t want that to spill over to the son.

Was a while ago but when Lacroix was Avs GM and Eric was on the roster eventually they had to trade Eric.

I know they say you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, but that is not a confidence inspiring trio of men to find the next HC and potentially GM for a billion-dollar football organization.

Hilarious picture, to be honest.
I'm hoping that they stumble ass backwards into Johnson and he's as good as he seems with the Bears. I think it's possible to win with a great HC and a great QB, regardless of the quality of the GM and ownership.

Bears are going to f**k it up, aren't they? I feel like 2025 is already punted.

Don't know if you are being sarcastic or that post that was written in jest but I'll humor you. There was not a haul large enough to make me settle for the mediocrity that is Sanders, Ward or especially Milroe. I'm glad to have Caleb Williams as he is a significantly better talent that Sanders, Ward and Milroe.

What Justin Fields was to the Bears fans, Jalen Milroe is to Bama fans. We were begging for Milroe (and his LANK nonsense) to leave Bama. Milroe is not a QB, merely an athlete playing the position.

100% in jest
