I had no idea Gill was a pick from the 2022 draft, even if just a 7th rounder.

He's like the worst punter I've ever seen play on an NFL team.

Just looked at his stats and he's dead last in yards per punt amongst anyone and everyone that has kicked a punt this year. His net is terrible as well.

I get that we got the first overall due to a shrewd trade by Poles, but this massive step back of a season is entirely on him.

A smart team in this circumstance would fire their GM, hire a new GM with full authority over the coaching search, hire a head coach of their choice, and let said new head coach hire their staff to their heart's content, all before the 2025 Draft.

But we all know what'll actually happen. Lame duck Poles will hire a new coach hamstrung by an inane need to keep a coordinator or positional coach or two, things will be stuck in mediocrity for another year or two, Poles will get fired, the brass will hire a new GM but with the implicit caveat that Poles' coach will be needlessly retained for another year or two, and after all of that the new GM will finally make a head coaching hire of their own choice when already on somewhat of a hot seat, all the while providing no cohesive strategy or protection to develop Williams.

So how does the reporting for being eligible work?

Does the coach do it? Does the player?

I guess neither if you are the bears but how is it supposed to work?

The player reports himself as eligible to one of the officials. They showed a replay of Kramer coming in, and he clearly didn't report himself.

I'm just over it all. I don't even want to listen to Hoge and Jahns talk about this team.
Take: I don't think Hoge has anywhere near as good of a reporter this year. I think all the CHGO stuff and all his side projects like the Kmet podcast has made him turn into a bit of a loud mouth.

I've seen it where the guy coming in rubs his stomach, of all things, to signal to the referee that he is an eligible receiver. That may have changed and now they go up to the ref, but that used to be the universal signal. Back then, we also tied onions on our belts and nickels were called bees. "Gimme 5 bees for a quarter!" you'd say.
