To be honest, I do think there is something to it. He has been interviewed for head coach positions for 2 coaching cycles now (yes, Rooney Rule plays a role, but he's still the one getting those interviews), and Sean McVay was obviously high enough on him to make him the assistant head coach back in 2021 after one season as the Rams RB coach.

Brian Flores would have to do A LOT to convince me that he's not going to ruin the confidence of another young QB before I'd be interested in having him coach the Bears. I don't even think what he did is super unusual for a headstrong defensive head coach. I just think headstrong defensive head coaches generally hate offensive players, and especially offensive players who are inconsistent and make mistakes (so young players).

Freeman is a hilarious option. Yeah, sure, why don't we go with the defensive minded college coach with no experience coaching in the NFL? It doesn't check any of the boxes they're supposedly looking for, but half the fanbase are Notre Dame fans, so let's go for their coach.
For sure, Flores is the least of them I would like, but he's atleast a lunatic that would demand respect.

Kevin Warren has to go. After his handling of Mike Tice in Minneapolis and now the Zoom debacle with Eberflus, it appears to me that Warren is an asshole with little tact.

Poles and Ebeflus came in together. Now Warren and Poles gotta go.

Before Harbaugh signed with the LAC, he turned down the Bears job, because he doesn't like Warren.

Outside of Johnson, any Def HC will depend on their OC with Caleb. Vrabel had Smith in Ten but not sure what his contract is with Pitt. Doubt Pitt would let him go to take the same OC role under Vrabel. If he’s a free agent, then he’d be the guy to tab as OC under Vrabel.

I've not heard that before, but not surprised.

In general, I don't think the problem is Caleb Williams. I used to think he was a problem or the problem, but not any more. Bad OL or not, he is willing the Bears to being competitive.

I don't care about the zoom debacle really. What concerns me with Warren is his handling of the stadium situation. Before he came on, the Bears looked like they were on a smooth path towards building a stadium at Arlington Park. It just seems like he wants no part of Arlington Heights for whatever reason. And in the meantime, nothing is getting done.

BTW - regarding Poles, who most of you want fired.

Who knows what is true, but reports are trickling out that he may have wanted Flus fired as far back as the end of last season, but ownership vetoed that. Probably because he had 3 more years left on his deal.

And let's remember, when Poles was hired, he came in to a situation where the Bears had already settled on 3 finalists for him to choose from - Flus, Caldwell and Dan Quinn. In hindsight, you'd probably pick Quinn. But he did fizzle out in Atlanta after a hot first couple of years.

Injury report is more of an injury novella this Wednesday. Good news: Wright and Shelton were both just limited. As to the rest... let's hope it looks better by Friday.
