Now that the players got the two coaches they wanted fired, fired, it's now on them to finish the season strong. Anything less than 3-2 (and yes I know the remaining schedule is not easy but still) and the players should be facing some scrutiny.
they are outmatched in the remaining games. they will likely just win one, maybe two of the remaining five. If he can stay healthy, having Brisker back will be huge.

Sad state of the hawks when I’m more entertained by a mediocre Monday night game I have no interest in than their product.

I don't believe believe that. Three of the teams left the Bears lost by a combined 7 points, the 49ers suck and the Seahawks are a solid but not a great team.

There is no reason why they can not win 3 out of the last 5 games.

They are a 4-8 team playing against teams that are 9-3, 10-2, 11-1, those are clearly mismatches. They will likely split the games between SF and Seattle

IMO Thomas Brown needs to beat the Packers in the finale to even be considered as the permanent head coach. And he probably needs to win 2 of the other 4 remaining games as well. It's a very tough spot to be in. But the talent is there....and they did take all 3 divisional opponents to the wire.

You could argue, rightfully so, the Bears should have won all three of those games. I agree. The Bears have the talent to go 3-2 or better to finish the season.

Niners are 4 point favorites but I can see the Bears winning this game riding the high of a culture/coaching change.

No CMC, possibly missing their LT and best offensive lineman again, Purdy recently missed a game with an injury to his throwing shoulder.

I wonder if Thomas Brown actually has the aura the players and reporters speak of, or it he's just competent and somewhat charismatic, but he's being compared to Eberflus and Waldron.

Been wondering the same and am thankful he has tough games to close out the season and win the HC job for 2025.

If he does rally this squad and they beat the Packers and a playoff team or two, I'll be a lot more optimistic about him maybe being the right choice.

To be honest, I do think there is something to it. He has been interviewed for head coach positions for 2 coaching cycles now (yes, Rooney Rule plays a role, but he's still the one getting those interviews), and Sean McVay was obviously high enough on him to make him the assistant head coach back in 2021 after one season as the Rams RB coach.

Brian Flores would have to do A LOT to convince me that he's not going to ruin the confidence of another young QB before I'd be interested in having him coach the Bears. I don't even think what he did is super unusual for a headstrong defensive head coach. I just think headstrong defensive head coaches generally hate offensive players, and especially offensive players who are inconsistent and make mistakes (so young players).

Freeman is a hilarious option. Yeah, sure, why don't we go with the defensive minded college coach with no experience coaching in the NFL? It doesn't check any of the boxes they're supposedly looking for, but half the fanbase are Notre Dame fans, so let's go for their coach.

I view picking the right coach much like picking the right draft prospect. You can do all the background checking and interviewing you want, you still won't know for certain if the guy can perform the task until he steps onto the field.
