OT: Bears & NFL Talk 103

DL is deep, RB is deep, IOL is deep. BPA of those 3 with #10. If they get Dalman, only one of #10, #39, #41 should be OL.

They need to walk away from the draft with one of each three positions after day 2, IMO. Sprinkle in either DL or TE with one of those 4 picks, and I don't think there are any glaring holes on the roster.

Lot of flexibility and directions you can go in this draft, that’s for sure. As long as it’s not some ridiculous reach I don’t think I’ll be disappointed in any direction they go to be honest.

Seems very cheap asset wise to add these guys and improve OL

Are they on fast decline or something? Did we find right teams in cap messes to poach?
Thuney is 32. Was due $17 mill or something in 2025. Jackson was hurt for the Rams. So, Bears paying $34 mill or so for their 2 OG, but only for 2025 as thuney is a free agent in 2026 while Jackson has no guaranteed money past this season. Could both end up being 1 year temp fixes.

Haven't watched the episode, but supposedly Nate Tice mentioned in the Hoge & Jahns episode that Dalman might be an awkward scheme fit with what Johnson likes to do in the run game.

Did they say if there is a better option that they should target instead?

They are taking Jeanty aren't they?

I don't like that, but if he can be Gibbs it will be money.
I think Jeanty can be better than Gibbs. My main worry with Jeanty is how much he has left in those legs after his college career. 830 touches in 3 years, including almost 400 this last season.

He's a true 3 down back though. Incredible contact balance, proven both as a blocker and as a receiving threat, breakaway speed when he gets loose. I think there is a strong argument that whoever drafts him gets the best player in the draft.

Not sure he's even there at #10.

Jeanty would be the fun pick and possibly BPA but part of me would really prefer the pick be used in the trenches. Still a long term need there on both sides of the ball and ideally the Bears aren't picking top 10 again for awhile, so it may be the last, best chance to find a foundational piece. Especially since two unexciting QB prospects may go ahead of the Bears' pick

I'm seeing most big names talk about how the strength in this class is that you can get almost equal talent drafting in the early 2nd round as in the mid 1st round, especially in the trenches, which is another case for drafting whoever is there from the DL/OL group in the second round and go for the best player available in Jeanty with #10.

Then again, there is also a strong argument to be made that you can get a very good RB in round 3, so accept the downgrade and spend #10 on the best DL/OL.

If Graham falls to #10, which I still think is very unlikely, I'm also interested to see if Johnson brings the Lions philosophy of "I don't care about measurements, the guy is a great football player" to the Bears.

I hope they trade back. Not late first back but I'm good with a mid 1st round pick and extra draft assets. This RB class is too deep. Can easily get that in the 2nd or 3rd round and get extra picks for more holes to fill in.

I haven't really considered it because i don't think there are a ton of players that teams will want to jump up to #10 for. But if there's an opportunity for it, I'd be on board.
