They HAVE to go offensive based HC. It would be criminal not to with how much is on the line with developing CW.
Poles has one foot out the door if he hires Brown to be HC in that timeframe but yeah they definitely do and should've last spring when they got the CW pick

We’ll see how the remainder of the season goes, but right now I’d rather see them promote Brown vs going with Slowik or Kliff as HC.

Same. Lets not have them Bears this up. They screwed up by not firing Eberflus when they drafted Caleb. Let's not waste his rookie year like they've done with every other QB in the last... oh I don't know... 80+ years. Unless it is Kingsbury learning yet another offensive system and setting the kid back would be typical for this franchise. That's why I hope Brown and Caleb continue to thrive the last 6 games here and you can truly see.

People forget Brown was a hot commodity for HC before he got the Panthers job as OC. Then the Bryce Young thing gave his shine a step back. So far he's proving with a better, more talented QB that he can absolutely hack it as a playcaller. Caleb and a couple of the offensive guys have already credited him in the meetings with motivating the guys. He might be a diamond in the rough. It would be typical Bears though to have a coach walk and he goes elsewhere and thrives though.

I'm willing to accept a DC-turned head coach if he brought an amazing OC with him that handled playcalling, but best case scenario that'd mean said OC was a year or two away from getting hired by another team to be their head coach and we'd have to find yet another new playcaller.

Go offensive-minded for head coaches in this day and age.

I'm not. Eberflus would neuter even Ben Johnson as his OC and force him to call a conservative game to his liking.

Bates doesn't actually exist. He's a reference to Norman Bates, a subtle nod to how the Bears interior O-line is like psychological horror for Bears fans.

I kinda like Brady. No idea how he would be as a HC, but he has been a big name in coach hiring for a while. Bombed out in Carolina, but so did Thomas Brown. The 2019 national championship means nothing to me. He was the passing game coordinator, and that team was ridiculously stacked.

Still, young, seemingly good offensive mind. He's not on Ben Johnson's level of sustained and proven success, but I'd take Brady over a good number of other people.

Cautiously hopeful about Brown. Really strong opponents from when he entered until the end of the season will be a good trial run. I think people feel more certain about his leadership ability compared to Johnson and Brady, but I also think the offense has to keep humming for the rest of the season for him to have a chance.
