Bengals kicker has missed last two FG's

Chargers get ball with chance to win game now

Bengals D with great job and gets the Bengals O the ball back with 2 timeouts and 1:35 left
 
So GB had basically three guys lined up against #79 Matt Pryor, who didn't get out of his stance immediately, until well after the ball was snapped, allowing Karl Brooks (one of the three rushers) to get just enough good penetration to get a finger on the low kick. I recall many fans online calling for Richard Hightowner, the ST coordinator, to take over the HC job, prior to this game.

At this point, I don't really give a lick about wins or losses this season. It's a lost season. I really only care about the development of the rookie QB and the rookie WR1, and the individual players who will be in Chicago after this season looking promising enough that potential head coaches look at the situation and think they can fix it.

Still, it's a little annoying to go from having Justin Fields who couldn't lead the team to a win in the fourth quarter even if the opposing team decided to vacate the field, to Caleb Williams who has now had those massive last minute potential game winning drives twice, pulled them off, and still seeing the Bears fail to win those games.

What isn't being discussed much today are the two penalties on the blocked FG. The first was them running over the center/long snapper with his head still down on the line of scrimmage. The second was the guy who blocked the FG using that same player's back to push off for leverage... neither called, when they should have been a 15 yard penalty and re-attempted FG.

Oh yeah, none of the "I take accountability" this week. Right back to defending the play, no reflecting on if "risking a fumble" may have been worth it if it could have gained them another 5-10 yards.

But let's be honest, it's just who he is. From the more reliable Bears reporters, it didn't sound like he was actually going to let Waldron go. He's going to stubbornly stick by his dumb decision making and avoid any types of risks all the way to unemployment.

It’s very simple. The HC has made in game decisions that cost the team victories. That should get you fired

He didn’t want to fumble. The bears have lost 2 offensive fumbles this season. One was Kramer. One was Kmet whiffing on a block and Caleb strip sack. Absolute wimp staff

I agree but they need to get some wins. They're not going to develop anything if they keep losing games particularly in boneheaded fashion. Those can also be very negative going forward with the young guys too as you said.

I know the playoffs were on life support anyway but I wanted to beat the g-d Packers for once. Make their playoff lives a little harder. I'm so sick of the Bears and every other Chicago team being awful or just trying to be mediocre.

Also notable. The D is a mirage. The points allowed look good but they had a chance to make plays to seal the win and they haven’t. 5 sacks in last 3 games.

Not sure about leverage, but running over the center is a big no-no. Apparently it should also have been a penalty on #90 for pushing the D-line from behind. That's the biggest and most obvious one.

Rule 9.3.3. Really not sure how they possibly missed that one with two refs standing there looking at it.

So in a couple of days, the NFL will come back and say it should have been a penalty resulting in a 30 yard FG kick instead. Neat.

Are you insane? Blitzing is risky. What if something scary happens?

Gordon has to be up there among the best nickel blitzers in the league too.

Though in Eberflus's defense, it was 3 blitzes on like 20 dropbacks. Because his defense allowed so many explosive plays that Love barely got a chance to throw the ball.
