I would of said it's not a big loss deal, most people said they wanted to be 2-1 out of these 3 after bye games and they very well might be.

But with the players comments it is pretty damning.

Had to happen after his performance and what can only be called quitting on Sunday

Fans have turned against him and no doubt some teammates were not amused or thrilled with him after Sunday
He is an idiot and not too smart. If you are tired stay on the turf. It’s only Q3 so no timeout will be charged. Give Flacco a chance to warm up before he comes in.

But no, he just taps out and the 40 second play clock just keeps running. So colts can’t do anything unless they burn a timeout which in 3rd and goal from the 23 you are not going to do at that point in the game. So they were left with a draw play to get the play off with a cold flacco.

So we agree, fire Flus once the season is over, hire Ben Johnson?
If they believe in Johnson, they should. Also, weakens Detroit a divisional rival, as Campbell, though a former TE, isn't an offensive play callers/designer. He's more Tomlin in dealing with players and building culture type of guy.

I wonder how much the Bears would have to collapse to move on from Eberflus and go for Johnson. The Bears defensive stats are VERY good this season. It probably comes down the the in-division games.

I'd obviously be on board with Ben Johnson. I have seen no evidence that he isn't an incredible offensive mind. He just also needs to be head coach material. I do think the Bears have a leg up on the competition if they decide to go for a new offensive coach. Lots of cap space, lots of draft value, good players at important positions.

Missed playoffs and a below .500 division record gets it done I think/hope.

I hope no one liked watching Amegadjie too much, cause he's likely out on Sunday. So is Braxton Jones. Bill Murray to IR, so he's definitely out.

Any D-lines to worry about coming up?

I'm not sure Cam Robinson is better than Braxton Jones, to be fair. But at that price, I might have considered it.

It's a buyer's market out there. Unfortunately, I don't think there's 2 playable interior O-linemen available.

Probably not but given the injuries and like you said at that price, I wish they would have done it if they had the chance. Also sounded like Jacksonville has a guy who can step in and play at the same level if not better.

Decent bit of injuries already and it seems lately Jenkins is getting injured a few times a game and missing plays. Ticking time bomb until something happens to him and he's out weeks I'd bet.

Over in the WaPo comments section, even Commanders fans see the obvious after just one game:
Tony Carrollo

The Daniels pass to win the game was lucky. Aaron Rogers' Hail Mary pass was perfect.

I don't see what the Bears coach has done. Despite their record their play calling in the first two games was terrible and the defense called on the last two plays of the Commanders game was questionable. They could have easily been undefeated and the coach could have called a time out before the last play. The Bears coaching is not good enough to elevate the team and the decision to draft Williams who got 0 Heisman votes in 2023 while 5 other QBs got Heisman votes doesn't look good. They passed on Stroud and Daniels and the last QB they drafted was Trubisky who cost them dearly.

Of course it wasn't Eberflose's call to pass on those other QB prospects (I'm including J.J. McCarthy, et al.) in back-to-back drafts.

Don’t really consider heisman votes a huge predictor of future NFL QB success do you?

Well, there it is. Caleb is a bust. Commanders fans can tell after one game. My God. This is what we've resorted to? Opinions from other teams fans taken as gospel?

Growth is not linear. There's going to be the good with the bad with a rookie QB. Why is it so hard for people to realize this?

Yeah, that's a bit weird. There is tons of tape on Williams from the NFL out there, analyzed by people who actually know what they're looking at. Why not look at what they're saying, instead of reading comment sections from Commanders fans?

Just saw Brisker still isn’t practicing. Yikes. Neither is Gordon but that’s not surprising to me.

And sounds like Stevenson is going to be benched.

@Romang67 you called it, it’s time to find a Brisker replacement after this season. If it takes this long to recover then he should be considering if it’s even wise for him to return ever again.

Anthony Richardson just went way too early in the draft. There was no way he should have been drafted to play immediately. The injuries haven't helped.

It's a shame, because I think he played better to start this season than he has before. But this is concussion #3 or #4 just in the NFL, and he has a play style that puts him at risk for further damage.

For what it's worth, Kyler Gordon is also fairly injury prone. But I don't feel myself wondering if he'll ever see the field again every time Gordon has a soft tissue injury.
