I don’t really understand why were as bad defensively as we are. We have some decent to good personnel but when you put it together it just doesn’t work.

Nurse is once again a train wreck in the playoffs. Guy just can’t make good decisions out there once the game ramps up.

Bouchard is a mixed bag. Most dangerous player for either team. Least you get good with him. Dude can flat out make plays.

But its kinda sad we can’t defend at least a bit better.

Game over game that will have a cumulative effect as well. I remember Keenan used to do that with the Flyers when we played them in the Finals back in the day and they started the series and each game great but just ran out of gas defending our attack over the course of the series.

Even though i'm a Leafs fan I do support you guys as i'd like to see my folks celebrate one more cup win before their times up. I've left the room two games in a row now down 1 goal in game 3 and 2 in game 4 and sat out on the deck and didnt come in until i got score updates when they won in game 3 and stayed outside for the OT goal last night.

I can see the line combos affecting the offence but on D its all about desire and a commitment to playing the right way. There just seemed to be little to no attention to detail.

A good offence helps your defence though! It's always better to play with the puck on your stick in the Ozone, but yes the line combos are only part of it. The team (MCD aside) seems to come out too flat and unfocused. This is very concerning. It could have been 3-0 LAK after 1 and the game would have been over.

The catalyst for changing things around was splitting up the dreadful Nurse - Bouchard pair before the 3rd. Still mystifying how anyone could have thought it was a good idea to jam a square peg into a round hole again.

We're finding it, and in this one I don't know if we give up more than 1 or 2 if we had just decided to not go there again, as all three goals were individual mistakes by Nurse (first GA) and Bouchard (the other 2). All 4 lines are feeling it and finding chemistry. All I hear about is how deep and amazing the Kings are, but all I see is a team afraid to play one of their lines and one of their D pairs.

Evander Kane has come in and done what he needs to. He provides a presence and a simple go to the net style of game. Massive difference maker on depth lines.
