That's the thing though - we actually have good depth.

Say what you want about our offseason moves, our roster construction and how we didn't quite buckle down and get going in the regular season and all that, but fundamentally we're a deep deep team. Deeper than last year.

100% agree with this. Biggest roster issues is goaltending and a bit of an unbalanced roster. Kane back and Frederic helps, but not quite enough finishing or net front from support guys outside of Perry and Hyman, when healthy.

Defense is a bit rough but Ekholm was not supposed to be out long term...so

Also, Pickard was great. Let in 3 goals, zero in the third and OT. Finished with a .927%. Even last game he had a brutal second but kept the game at 4-3 into the third and shut the door allowing nothing. Stu got worse and worse especially in the third of both of his starts. That was also a huge difference. But yeah, shutting out the Kings PP was huge as well.

Just keep Walman with Bouchard and Nurse-Kulak together. Mix in the occasional Klingberg, and they'll be better off.
