I expect the Leafs to also play better. I’m reading comments like this a lot on here. Yes Ottawa should play a lot better but it’s not like the Leafs played a perfect game. I expect Stolarz to lock in even more and Tavares/Domi and Rielly gotta wake the f*** up. Leafs played to their style, they gave up shots but high end chances were pretty low, they looked calm. Stick to it and this could be a sweepI expect the Sens to come out swinging in Game 2 because if they lose again they're in deep, deep shit.
This is hilarious and traumatizing at the same time. Traumatarious?
Leafs for sure have the better goalir which is a nice change. I agree that the Leafs should win this series pretty easily, but Ott won't go away without a fight. It most likely won't be enough. It won't matter how hard they come out. They will have the same goaltending issues, the same penalty killing issues and the same scoring issues.
Didn't help that Reilly lost the puck battle for the rebound. That 4th line got burned on Ott’s first goal but in general I thought Ott couldn’t match up with them

I wish there was video of it lol supposedly Matthews stole his stick and snapped it in half on the bench and Ridley wasn't a fan lmaoApparently Greig tried to go into the bench?
This dude needs to get caved in. Wasn't happy with how he ran Stolarz and there was no response.
I said before game 1 that it wouldn't be close, but every other game of the series would be close. I'll stick to that. Ottawa will settle down, as will the Leafs. The difference will be, as you say, simply a deeper, more impactful roster for the Leafs, and better goaltending. I expect a 3-1/3-2 game on Tuesday, and for the series to end in 5 games. He's not wrong, he is seeing the game from a coach's perspective, the game was much closer than the score implied. At one point in the 3rd the Sens had a higher goals expected for the game than the Leafs did. The difference is our roster is considerably deeper, and when you make mistakes against a deep roster, you lose 6-2. There is a reason why we struggled against Bos and Fla, their teams had rosters as deep (or deeper) as ours, and when they made mistakes we didn't capitalize on them and when we did Bos/Fla capitalized on it.
We need to clean up our game, far too loose with puck management/ game management. I'm happy for the win but not happy with the way we allowed the Sens to get prime scoring chances. Less run and gun and more one and out for the Sens, next game please.
I'm more worried about the rebound in general and the turnover in the corner. Mo doesn't give much at all thereDidn't help that Reilly lost the puck battle for the rebound.
Marner matched his entire last years Boston statline in game 1
No response? We won 6-2 and scored three PP goals. It's a seven (or less) game series. Lots of time to respond and lots of ways to do that. Why respond and even possibly create a chance for momentum to turn? Stolarz was fine and Greig ultimately hurt his team more than he helped them last night...even with a goal.Apparently Greig tried to go into the bench?

Hanging onto fruitless stuff like advanced stats in the playoffs is kind of pathetic. They can look at every advanced metric and try and find light at the end of the tunnel, the fact is Ottawa has no chance with being undisciplined and getting goaltending like thatSpent the morning dog walk listening to Sens podcasts.
Lots of delicious tears on the refs only to acknowledge later far too much undisciplined play.
Holding on to advanced stats as "a win" even though last I looked the Sens still got outscored 5v5.
Bit of denial on Ulmark being weak although acceptance that he didn't get them saves on high danger chances while Stolarz did.
Criticism of Chabot getting burned on both the first two goals.
This is the time when I wish Reaves was a bit of a better player. I would love Reaves to whisper in Grieg's ear: "hey, you do one thing that pisses me off tonight, and I'm sending you to the ER. If I get suspended, I don't give two shits. I'm retiring anyway".Apparently Greig tried to go into the bench?
