Post-Game Talk: BATTLE OF ONTARIO GAME 2 - LEAFS WIN IN OT 3-2!

Don't love this mid series. Maybe once it's over

Seems appropriate to me given all the Sens whining after game 1. They got every call in their favor in game 2 and still lost.

And then still came out and complained again after game 2 which is just outright embarrassing.

At the end of the series is when you should show respect imo. Right now, if you’re gonna be whiners, then expect ridicule.

I love it always.

Fun to see them cocky instead of quaking in our boots all the time.

Will it bite them in the ass? Possibly. But at that point they will have more things making them look foolish to worry about.

Hopefully getting into the trash talk makes them elevate and curb stomp the rest of the series and bring out that killer mindset vs playing polite.

We probably did, there's almost always a handful of bad changes each game
We had 2 guys close to 50 feet of the puck

if anything we had too few players on the ice, sure as shit didn’t have more than than 5 on the OT, especially anywhere near the play

Green can bitch and whine like the loser he is though.

You need some swagger. Stolarz has that and it's great. Patrick Roy vibes without the over-arrogance. Both goalies get along so it's a good vibe and they could both be paired here for a few more years if the Leafs ever hoisted the Cup.

Everyone has their own style but it has to branch off from the same basic core DNA: confidence.

One should never underestimate the opponent or you will let your guard down but one should have complete confidence that they can beat anyone and then do what is necessary to achieve the objective.

I'm not worried about the violins firing up the Sens.

If the Leafs were playing Colorado (Mack), Edmonton (McDraisaitl) or Pittsburgh (Sid), for example, then definitely. Those are guys you really, really don't want more focused and determined than they already are.

But the Sens? They don't have that. Brady isn't that guy. He can hit, be a pest but he's not capable of taking over a game. Neither is Stutzle, or anyone else.

In any case, it comes off to me like confident veterans setting the young 'uns straight about how you compose yourself in the playoffs. And whining when you lose isn't how you do it.

They better make it to the conference finals then.

Pulling out the Violins for a rookie Ottawa team only to get punked by a legit Florida team would be embarrassing and fitting. Would much rather these guys put their heads down and get out of the second round for the first time in the cores history tbh.

I was quite surprised to hear this about Brady and probably Matthew as well! Like they say, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.🍎

The past can only haunt you if you allow the negativity to have free room and board in your head. Having Max score that goal is certainly a step in that direction and may have started to wrap them up and constrict their chests crushing their hope.

I think Chief is trying to find a way to get McMann on track. He hasn't been very good for the last 10-15 games and he's a guy that needs to be first on pucks and have an impact on the score sheet. The Leafs are lucky they have 4 or 5 players that can slide up at least 2 lines. It's a nice problem to have. I remember people flogging Ronnie Wilson for this very same thing, when every and I do mean EVERY coach from peewee right up to the NHL does it. Maurice is one of the best, historically the Sainted Scotty Bowman was continually tinkering, he would even do so with the Russian 5, making it the Russian 4 + Yzerman or + Lidstrom. And no I'm not comparing any of todays Leafs with any of those guys.

For years now, the last one was Taylor Swifts' tour.

Yeah I'm quite surprised by his girth, he was a very fit player very svelte, with all kinds of stamina. At least until that blind side hit knocked him into next week.

I wonder if he can't work out due to residual concussion effects, or a medication that has limited his ability to stay in shape? It looks like his BP is through the roof.
I'll take "Things My Wife Has Never Said" for 500, Alex.

Yeah given our history doing something that only amps up the other team is bad juju that should probably just be avoided.

Stolie, Domi, Benny, and others have come up with better ideas to deal with the whining and stick work.

Oh 100%.

Because if that does fire up Ottawa with their players mentioning it publicly as a factor that pushed them to come back & win the series ... Oh boy. Matty & Reilly may want to just leave Toronto forever.

But if they lose the series to Ottawa in any manor, taunting them or not, the whole team will probably want to leave Toronto forever anyway.

Let's just hope in game 3 Toronto wins with those two backing up their actions with great performances, then it becomes a non-story very quickly.

What do you really want to ask me or say here?

Are you trying to prove that there are exceptions to the rule? Are you trying to argue that TOR didn't keep a low event defensive posture in last night's game?

Don't beat around the bush.
not trying to stump anyone or anything, I just see it said often enough on here that the Leafs 'don't cheat' in the defensive zone and I think they do, often, Nylander most but Marner too as on his goal in game 1. It feels like it's part of their system even so maybe it's not cheating if you are looking for the opportunities

Hasn't Mo (and others, but specifically Mo) done the violin celly after wins long before this series?

Unless I'm batshit and making stuff up, this has nothing to do with Ottawa or even the playoffs.
