Benoit and Domi. That’s how you attack the net.

Really hope the second period is a wake up to the boys that Sens can be play.

Expecting the Sens to come out flying in Game 3, hopefully they are too excited and make mistakes.

I’m sorry I’m not over the Euro’s ;) I love my biscuits and gravy and mass immigration. My brother in law is Italian and a Habs fan. Just ask how I’m still alive lol
I’m lucky my wife’s Italian and I have it 3 times a week. But seriously, Laughton looks a lot more comfortable and that can only help us going forward.

Berube doesn't change his lineup very often after winning, so I'll be surprised if he does. Pacioretty hasn't played in 2 months and half, so it would be a bit of a risk. Robertson had a tough one but I think he's earned another look to redeem himself.

Pacioretty was a hitting machine early in the season and had success with JT and Nylander, so maybe it could be worth the look. It's a tough call.

Up 2-0 I think you take a peek. The stakes only get higher from here.

As I explained after Game 1, unless someone is injured you DO NOT make line up changes when you’re winning in the playoffs.

Fortunately, Craig Berube is a professional coach and will obviously understand this.
I think Robertson is playing injured. Very injured. 😏

Agreed. I've also never liked his decision-making with the puck on zone entries along the boards. He's a good player but has his limitations and if he's not in front of the net I'm not sure how he's adding a ton of value.
Eh I disagree with this. Knies is one of our better players at being able to create separation and rushing with the puck. He also has an underrated shot, he can wire it when he wants.

Great that they won. But Domis goal was the only clear one. Ullmark saw nothing with his own team infront plus leafs D. Ottawa could take this series back at home, if they help Ullmark more and dont sit in his lap.

In what way was the mcmann tavares nylander line so bad that they needed to change it?
If it was to make the third better, then the 1A line can have Holmberg and knies on the 1B line , as there are no 2nd line according to some.

Need to be better the following games.
Great pk thats a big plus.

I’m worried JT is hurt. He only played 16 mins and in the 3rd period many of his shifts were face off get off.
He did look very off the second period onwards, after having a very good first period. But then again so did a lot of the team..

First time taking a 2-0 lead since we did it against the Islanders in 2002.

Common factor in all four PP goals is Nylander getting the puck off the draw and setting up the PP.

The ref absolutly had Stolarz' back. No call on either player until he had to call Stolarz, then sent them both off. You could see him chatting with Stolie about it afterwards. A blocker to the kidney is more effective (and less obvious) than a stick slash.

Sweet series of plays and a great pass by Willy for the first goal.

Lucky bounce on JT's goal balances the unlucky bounce on their first, but great net battle by Knies.

Miscommunication between OEL and Domi but a nice tip for their second.

JT having a tough night on the dot.

Sweet steal, rush, and pass by Benoit and a good shot by Domi. Whew! Can I breathe now?

Not a great night, but the right result. I'm not complaining.

Possibly the only stat they didn't show in the post-game was that the Leafs have a perfect record when scoring in OT. :sarcasm:

Happy for the win but for the love of god stop taking your foot off the gas when you have a lead. Basic logic suggests you should play the way that got you the lead in the first place.

The third line was exposed hard tonight and also the second line didn't do much either. In general Berube has had a difficult time figuring out a combination with Domi/Robertson/McMann and has been shifting them around constantly. There is no way he goes on the road without last change with this same configuration IMO. He also barely played Robertson at all after the penalty.

Time for Pax?

What a win!

But what was Batherson doing? Taking a cold bath? A blind backhand pass to Benoit in the offensive zone and a flyby Domi in his own zone. I'm not complaining.

Even though we won have to assume Pacioretty comes in for Robertson next game right? Hasnt done much at all and took a stupid penalty today
