Barracuda News & Discussion VII

Definitely excited for Chernyshov, but as far as more pressing matters for this team go: We and Calgary are tied on points in the standings, but we need to get at least one point out of this game to even remain in the conversation for 5th.

A regulation loss locks us into 6th and a date with Ontario or Abbotsford in round one.

Nollenberger says Colin White is ill and will not play.

Chernyshov is with Vanroboys and Regenda (lol, what?)

Carlsson and Frisch are back.

Getting away ahead of myself, but if Chernyshov starts tearing the AHL apart (say dominates in the playoffs, and then next season has 1.5ppg through 20 games) don't you have to call him up?

I’d be surprised if he doesn’t just start with the Sharks to be honest. He’s already played against men, he’s huge, and has a more complete game than all the other wing prospects.

Yeah, what I was thinking. He has a very projectable NHL frame, NHL game, and pedigree in a pro league.

I wouldn't be surprised if he started with the Cuda, but I think he has the best odds of any of our forward prospects to start with the Sharks. Conservatively, I might predict a Graf-like season, where he is called up on merit half way through the season.
