2025 Calder Cup Playoff Primer

Not a big fan of the AHL's playoff structure, but it's made for some interesting drama down the stretch, almost every game involving Pacific teams tonight could have some ripple effects on our playoff path.

We can't drop any lower than 6th now, by the way, 7th-place Tucson is 8 points behind us with 3 games to go. They should just be worried about Bakersfield, who's only a point behind them.

We can pass the Firebirds tonight for 4th should if we win and Bakersfield beats them in regulation, but they have a game in hand on us, so they would be able to take it right back tomorrow.

And then on the other end, Calgary can pass us for 5th if we lose in regulation and they beat Abbotsford. But we face Calgary for our final two games, so regardless of what happens, who finishes higher between the two of us will get decided next weekend.
