Barracuda News & Discussion VII

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server
Gotta imagine we'll see Beck in the lineup this weekend.

Sounds like Bystedt and Asky are getting close to a return.

Has there been any news on Berglund?

He played one game on 3/15, which was the game Bordeleau and Duehr were out, then has been a scratch since then.

tbh I don't see anyone he should be replacing in our current forward group.

Beck is out there for warmups, not in the lineup though. Also missing Thompson.

Least they split up Furlong and Keane.

No Linus Karlsson, Raty, Lekkerimami for Abbotsford tonight, all up with Vancouver.

5-1 is your final. Let me give you a quick breakdown of this unmitigated disaster.

-Canucks were all over us for the first half of the game. We got nothing going at all. Once we started getting chances, Tolopilo stoned us. Not that we looked like we deserved to get back into it.

-We lost Andrew Poturalski towards the end of the second, and Joey Keane midway through the third, both presumably to injury. If the Sharks have to call up a defenseman because of the Desharnais injury tomorrow, Jesus we are screwed.

-I went back and looked at Andrew Poturalski's last shift, 6:25 left in the second while we're on the power play. I cannot figure out what happened to him. He takes the faceoff, skates around a bit, fails to keep the zone and just immediately skates to the bench, while we're on a power play. At the next whistle, he leaves from the bench to the back. He didn't return. (Edit: Went back further an there's a collision at 6:45 of the second. It's pretty minor looking, but Poturalski didn't get up too quickly)

-Scott Sabourin went into full rage mode in the third for the first time in a while, that was neat.

-Weird stat, you know who led our team in SOG tonight? Jeremie Bucheler, with 6.

Worst game I think I have seen the Cuda play this season. Passing was terrible and they really had trouble gaining the zone and setting up for most of the game.

I will not be surprised if Sabourin straight up
murders a Canuck tomorrow. As Hobocop stated he was raging hard and looking for someone to beat down from the 2nd period on.

This happened while the site was down- that is, they announced that John Gormley here will be signed for this and next season, then sent him to Wichita. Don't think it was mentioned on here that he got sent to the ECHL.

Anyway, reason I'm bringing him up is because the transaction wire says he was just recalled to the Barracuda. Not impossible we see both him and Beck tomorrow.

I'd have to agree. At least, I can't think of a worse performance from us off the top of my head. Only line that seemed like they were getting decent pressure was line 4.

Tomorrow's game's going to be interesting. There was some genuine frustration from the Barracuda and it might boil over early.
