Probably the best start we've had against the Gulls, still 0-0 halfway through the first but we've had some decent pressure at times.

Bordeleau missed on an open net on our best chance thus far.

Cardwell with yet another breakaway, but still can't bury one.

We finally get some pressure going and Lucas Vanroboys scores one with 33 seconds to go in the second. Makes it 4-1 after two.

The Barracuda cannot seem to figure out how to play against the San Diego Gulls the season, it's baffling. They mark us on defense more tightly than most teams and have a good forecheck. But the Barracuda always seem to compound that with sloppy puck control.

Haven't seen Frisch for this third period, but I don't think I see him on the bench either. He and Cagnoni were on for all three of the SD even strength goals. Cagnoni was even out for the SHG, so he's -4 tonight. Not hanging anything on them, though. Had a lot else going wrong on those plays.

They've been better in the third, but nothing is getting through Clang.

Keane in for Frisch and Romanov in net.

Today the Reign are the "Rain" and their jerseys have a little cartoon raincloud on them.

They're apparently also claiming they're from Ontario (the Canadian province) and the anthem singer is even performing "O Canada" before the Star Spangled Banner. This is a weird one.

I'm appreciating their dedication to this whole bit, as whenever there's a break in the action the DJ is playing songs with "rain" in the title.

Cuda are starting a little slow, but the Rain are rested and we're not.

A Joey Keane shot gets blocked, and immediately taken the other way for a breakaway and goal by Hudon. 1-0 Ontario.

Barracuda go onto their first power play when Pinelli just decides he's had enough of Anthony Vincent and cross-checks him in the back.

Gushchin gets it into the net on the ensuing power play, we are tied at 1.

--

On the faceoff right after our PPG, Fagemo takes a tripping call.

Lucas Carlsson PPG, 2-1.

Bordeleau! 3-1. Great feed from Sabourin.

Our third power play had just expired, but the PP2 unit gets one into the net anyway. Ontario taking some very stupid penalties this period.

Gushchin has had a ton of chances this period.

3-1 Cuda after two periods, those penalties have put Ontario in a bad spot. They've probably been the better team outside of our three PPs.

Cardwell's been putting in some hard work today and has two assists. Bystedt's having a pretty mixed game, he's not really had a good couple weeks so would like to see him get going.

Edit: Yeah, McCarthy seems to not be impressed by Bystedt tonight, he's been moved to line 3, with Robins moving up.

Fagemo tips a point shot in to cut it to 3-2, that guy continues to haunt us.

And we're tied. Heavy Rain pressure, Colin Graf starts to bring it out of the zone but his stick breaks. It winds up in the net very quickly after that.

Bordeleau turns it over, but actually comes back on defense and springs Poturalski and Cardwell for a 2-on-1. Cardwell scores to put the Cuda back out in front. Very quick sequence.

Neutral zone turnover leads to a tie game.

Referees then call Lucas Carlsson for roughing, absolutely ridiculous call, especially with four minutes to go.

Tristen Robins (?!) drops the gloves with Jamsen late behind the play, I don't know where that just came from.

Maybe Jamsen just wanted to complete the Gordie Howe. Would say Robins got the better of him, though.
