I’m at the game. Shakir is a mile from the nhl. He was beat no fewer than five times for breakaways, net front rebounds, etc. just ugly…

I don’t think he’s an nhler to be.

Phone just didn't want to load this site while I was at the game. Oh well.

This Calgary team is going to be tough to beat. They're big, fast and well-structured. I can see why they're off to what's now a 12-3 start to the season. Devin Cooley played a great game, too.

There's some things the Barracuda can adjust for tomorrow (how about quit skating into the corner of our defensive zone and turning the puck over, and watch out for their forwards sneaking behind the defense on the breakout) but yeah, pretty clear why Calgary's the best team in the league currently.

I wonder if Frisch might sit tomorrow, he blocked two different shots that both hobbled him. He was still out there for the last shift, but you know how those things go.

Both Cuda goals were Gushchin from Graf and Poturalski, so 2 points for all three of them. 8 SOG by Gushchin.

Congrats. I also watched him play those games. You pretend just because you’re a knights fan you’re the expert. I just don’t really think he’s a line driver. I think his max potential is something like Fabian Zetterlund who I think is a very good player but not a line driver.
You watched an entire season of Knights hockey to follow Halttunen?

That's top tier fandom and obsession if it's true.

I think Muhk will eventually be called up. Mario has never played a full season in the NHL (although he played 78 last year). How long before he takes another blocked shot and explodes and then Muhk will come up as the injury replacement and never relinquish that spot.

Enough to know this guy is talking out of his ass.

No but really here’s the two things that I think happened here. This guy claims to be an expert because he’s a fan and also we are talking about two entirely different things when it comes to “line driver.”

Eventually, yeah. Fans do seem to be in much more of a rush to bring the new guys in than they were before. Mukhamadullin, IMO, still needs a little more time, just because he still doesn't look like he's back to the level he was playing at last season. His play so far since coming back from the injury has been pretty unremarkable. So him getting more AHL reps is a good thing right now.

Actually, one thing from yesterday's game is that he's no longer used on the power play, he was replaced on the PP2 unit by Lucas Carlsson.

Thanks for the update. I don't think Mukh gets called up until after the trade deadline then if that's how he's playing right now.

My takeaways from my 1st Cuda game:

- Arena is actually incredibly nice for what it is
- Ricci and Clowe still look like they could play
- Cags literally stands out every time he is on the ice (in a good way)
- Goose was their best forward all night I thought
- Muk seemed pretty good
- Lastly, being probably the most talented roster the Cuda have ever had; still seems like McCarthy is not the guy to really get the best out of the team

The one thing that has really bothered me, and might be a real problem is that Gushchin doesn't respect that Cagnoni is their best player now. He is forcing the pp to run through him, when it should be going through Cagnoni. Feels like he doesn't realize this is not the same team he and Bordeleau were on last year.

Spoke too soon. Romanov probably should’ve had that first one, Schuldt did a poor job tying up his man on goal 2. 2-0 Calgary.

I don't know if I trust the judgement of a person who betted on the Sharks winning the Cup this year.
Hahah, it’s early yet…

Really, he didn’t look good yesterday and minus again.

Perhaps he’s still recovering but his play, his awareness, his battle, his effort just wasn’t there yesterday. It’s one game but it wasn’t pretty.
