Iowa are having their Pucks and Paws night, bunch of dogs in the audience. Ours is next weekend.

Mitchell Russell in for the first time.

No Mukhamadullin in this one. Bystedt gets a winger upgrade.

Dylan Ferguson in net for Iowa.

Dylan Ferguson in net for Iowa.

Makes me think that Mukhamadullin isn't really game-ready.

Barracuda go down 5 on 3 and Iowa puts one in. 1-0 Wild.

That first hooking penalty on Vincent looked like the referee guessed on what happened. Thought Vincent just lifted the guy's stick.

Barracuda go back on the power play but it's wiped out by a hooking call on Graf. Referees seem whistle-happy today. Six minor penalties called already.

David Spacek blasts it from the point after that power play is over to make it 2-0, Romanov just never got squared to that shot.

That's your score at the end of one. It's not been awful, but it's not been good enough so far.

3-0, Iowa, on a tip at the side of the net. We'd been playing better this period, but that one came out of nothing.

Doesn't help that Ferguson is just eating up everything we throw at him.

Another SJ power play wasted, genuinely frustrating to watch this team this weekend. Was the trip out to Iowa a rough one, or what?

Vanroboys drops the gloves with ex-Cuda Bradley Marek. Wasn't much of a fight.

Cuda finally on the board, Poturalski. 3-1

Schuldt hit a guy clean and Cecconi took exception to it, dropped the gloves with him and received an instigator penalty for the trouble. Cuda score on that PP.

---

Cagnoni goes down after a trip, stays down and then leaves with a trainer. Awkward fall. This happened with 15 seconds left in the period, so we'll see if he's ok. Cuda will still have most of their power play remaining as the third starts.

Seems like we've jumbled the lines a little bit, I just saw Vincent on Bystedt's wing. Now we've got Russell-White-Houle.

I don't know if I've seen Justin Bailey in a while. (edit: Nope, there he finally is. That line is now Bailey-Vanroboys-Sabourin)

Iowa makes it 4-2. We're just giving them too much space at times.

And, 5-2. Honestly, Iowa's just working harder than us. Said it before, but we've looked awful this weekend. Our passing's been a little off the mark, we're getting beaten to loose pucks, and there have been so many times an Iowa player has just skated up to one of us and stripped us of the puck. Bad effort all around.

Not a good weekend for the Cuda. We've got the week off, and then are back at home vs. Colorado.

Just generally didn't like the energy from us. Can't use the excuse of it being the second half of back to backs, since we looked just as bad yesterday. Poturalski one of the few bright spots.

With Daniil Gushchin and Ethan Cardwell coming back, where does Kasper Halttunen fit in when he comes back via injury?

Yep. Valid question, if they stay long-term. Mitchell Russell comes out, and then after that I don't know, since Coe is doing well enough to get some ice time at the moment. That's not to mention Tristen Robins hopefully getting back into the lineup soon. It's now crowded.

It'll be worth seeing the lines this weekend, as McCarthy juggled the lines and split up the fourth line in the process during the later stages of Sunday's game. Those three have been terrific together, but individually a couple of them might be vulnerable to the numbers game. But the team was playing like garbage, so that could've just been him throwing stuff at the wall.
