Too bad OP forgot the mention Barkov had been on the ice for 2 minutes when this happened. The main reason why it was incredible

Can I just take this oppurtunity to once again state how much I hate it when broadcasts do random closeups while the f***in play is ongoing. No one needs to see a zoom in on Bob’s nostrils, while the puck is in movement and f***in plays are going on.

Every damn game you miss chunks of play cause the NHL thinks they are Martin Scorsese.
I'm still angry from a shot of a butterfly during fifa world cup in brazil...

I was expecting that clip to go on for like 2 mins after reading the thread title .. bizzare thread.

Yes Barkov is unreal but I see hard work like this happen from many different players always

It did go for 2 minutes. Why OP selected some Reddit clip I dont know

The clip did not match the thread title. Barkov steals the puck and draws a penalty.

The title made it seem like he would beat the defenders and score... or at least get a shot on goal.

Not really threadworthy.
If the Matthews ever had a shift like that you would be screaming about the Selke. Once again showing his nomination last year was a joke.

To be fair it was mostly the Blues skaters skating hard and cycling while Panthers 3 man defense was mostly stationary in a box. They were totally gassed by the point Barkov stole the puck. And even while forechecking in the beginning of the shift Barkov stood in front of their goal without moving for a long time while they were looking for a breakout.

It was an amazing shift, but I wouldn't overtly stress the length of it.

I watch a variety of broadcasts. Even if it’s oilers games I’ll watch the US feed for shits and giggles sometimes. It seeeeems like it’s every broadcast, whether TNT, ESPN, or the worse, SN. But I haven’t really done any formal tracking of it.
Sportsnet is the absolute worst with it. They're obsessed with zooming in on random fans at worst moments. Any intro especially playoffs I wanna see the entire barn rocking it out like CBC back in the day. Not some rando half assing his towel waive for 10 seconds at a time. Common sense shit

Disgraceful corporation.

SN buying a monopoly on hockey coverage, was the worst thing to happen to Hockey in Canada. f*** Rogers.
