So, even with comp picks at the end of round 5, that's like maybe 12 draft positions for the pick swap.

I hope they address the defense because they're not winning a Super Bowl if they need to score 30+ every single game to win.

With that said, who's more loaded on offense than the Ravens? Jackson/Henry/Hill/Mitchell/Andrews/Likely/Flowers/Bateman and you add Johnson? My oh my.

Why just give him away?

Panthers man. Just no hope in sight.

Making it worse if they would have let him walk they would have got 10 more games with him and a better comp pick.

$3.9 mill more of salary/cap hit to take on. But, Comp picks are not guaranteed. Will be netted off against who Carolina signs and they likely will be active in free agency.

Trade only makes sense if he became an issue in the locker room/in the organization and needed to be jettisoned.

Because he’s more valuable in being lost for potentially nothing and providing Young/Dalton someone to throw to to try and find some stability of offense rest of season, then what they got back.

To eat salary just to move up 10-15 spots in the draft….. team must be out on this guy…..

They were shopping around the league and this is the best deal they find?

To move up 10-15 draft spots from early round 6 to late round 5 and pay most of the remaining salary, means that he wasn't that valued or they wanted him gone. Guess if they are going to be active in FA, then him being a ufa likely won't factor into comp picks for them.

Not sure if anyone watched the Giants hard knocks but it definitely didn’t look like Dan Morgan was a great negotiator. Pretty sure with a little more patience they could have gotten better but Panthers got to Panther.
