It's still early so I'm not jumping for joy yet, but considering how things had gone for him prior to the move this is a great start and hopefully he continues to play like this and keeps getting better.
Yeah, still pretty early, but considering how dry the offense has been down in Bakersfield, it's good to see someone adding something right away.

Perrault looks better than expected, Attard looks worse.

The dcore down there might be one of the worst we have iced at that level. At least with potential NHL guys wise.

Not sure wtf happened to Attard but he has fallen off a cliff this season stats wise.

We used to have so many potential NHL guys 3-4 years ago

Now theres 1-2.

Where is Wanner? Is he injured?

But him and Kemp are the only ones I see making it as a 3rd pairing D in the future, and even they're pretty low chances.

I remember samorukov and kesselring and such.

Does anyone have a clue why we signed Delia to be our #4 goalie? I just looked at his stats and they suck. Last season sucked too, season prior as well.

Could be that not a tonne of a goalies who were getting NHL contracts were looking to be in a position where they were going to be the definitive backup in the AHL rather than someone competing for more starts.

Or (conspiracy theory warning) it could be that he was originally signed as a free agent by Stan Bowman out of college and spent 4 years under him in Chicago. Bowman wasn't officially hired until July 24th, but Jackson may have already unofficially given him the job and was waiting for the optics of the hiring to soften until later into the summer (Bowman was officially allowed to work for an NHL team again on July 1st).

I think he's going through a bit of reprogramming. Seems like he or the coaches have realized that he isn't going to make it as a poor man's Brent Burns, so he's been focusing on the defensive side of things.

He's huge, strong and mobile, so it's worth a shot.

Yeah Wanner and Kemp have the best shot but I don’t see much more upside than a 6/7 for either.

I mean forwards wise it’s Philp/Savoie and that’s really it too.
It’s a mix of just tossing away prospects for nothing and trading for playoffs and awful drafting.
I guess being good hurts your prospects.

Hearing how Picard is such a great guy in the locker room, he should fake a minor injury so we can give Rodrigue an actual NHL game. Sure he was crap in the pre-season but who wasn't?

PETROV AGAIN

RISING FROM THE PROSPECT GRAVEYARD

Nice to see.
I read somewhere recently that he was injured either at the end of last season or in offseason training and it took him a while to get healthy, which would explain his slow start. They’ve worked a ton with him on his defensive game and even had him PKing at some points so I’m still quite hopeful for him as a prospect.

Now that’s a NHL quality one tee and we could use that on the Left Side.

Remember. He was the completely FREE pick that we offered to Dubas but he declined it cause of his inflated ego and Toronto pettiness.
I think the Oil were lucky to find him somewhat later in the draft considering his size and the numbers he put up with North Bay. He has the skill and is starting to produce some good numbers now, hopefully consistently. The next step is from him to realize he will no longer slip under the radar, and the opposition will be paying attention. He needs to match the intensity.
