I wouldn't say its impossible and I wouldn't mind him getting a look in TC, but I think it is unlikely. 2 nice goals in b2b games is leading to too much excitement. He's had chances in 253 NHL games and hasn't shown that much skill until these 2 games.
Couldn’t you say the same thing bout Iafallo? He wasn’t exactly popping them on the regular from the 4th line. He got opportunities on the pp and with perfetti.
He is faster and bigger.

We are not talking about Iafallo as a 2C. We are talking about him being a complimentary player with 2 near elite talents on the 1st line. He is there to provide more D and to do some of the dirty work.

Just hypothetically, lets say that Perfetti had panned out as a 2C. I could then see Barron as that kind of complimentary player with Ehlers and Perfetti. Very different story.

I don't think it is completely out of the question, just unlikely to work out. I would be inclined to try Vilardi at 2C first. Or maybe give Perfetti a real shot at it.

To me he’s a little like Lidstrom in the way he’s not out there making the flashy 100 foot pass, he just makes the right pass. Buy that extra 2 seconds, hit that guy 15 feet away with speed and the puck is gone.
I'm shocked how many times he goes into a puck battle in our zone and not only wins possession but makes a great little pass to totally relieve pressure. Doesn't matter what size the opponent is either.

He's also sneakily physical, applies just the right amount of force to get the job done.

Reminds me of prime Enstrom

I'm for it. Kupari or Barron for size and speed. Ehelrs and Perfetti carry the offense anyway. I like Names in some situations, but his offensive IQ isn't there and he can't shoot. He's had a few 2 on 1 plays in recent games where he muffed it.
The one thing that's prevented Namestnikov from being a star is his lack of hands and finishing.

I love the guy and he's a super important part of this team but he just doesn't have that killer instinct around the net.
