Post-Game Talk: Bagel City, Jets 4 - Stars 0, almost there

I hope this game solidifies Scott Arniel as a Jack Adams finalist. He's got this team playing the right way.

Unreal effort top to bottom. Just outplayed the Stars and made them pay. Couldn't be more proud as a Jets fan. Being the best in the West means knocking down all contenders, and they did just that.

Nice to have Ehlers and Pionk back in the lineup. Pionk had a strong game. I predicted a fight would happen, but Ehlers was not the guy I picked to fight.

Congrats to KC on 40. Congrats to Helly on 45. One more W and then some well earned rest before the real test. Dallas, well Rantanen sure hasn't done much against us this year. If Dallas goes out in the 1st round, there's going to be a lot of hype up in smoke.

It’s my Birthday today and I only had a chance to watch early part of the game before going out.
Best birthday present was when I came home and found out that we shutout the Stars!
Happy birthday! All the best and have a great one!

Now this is what I'm talking about. Glorious performance and win in a must-win game. Bring on the playoffs, baby!

Barron is a coming thing.....skills catching up to size/strength...
Pionk was outstanding...
Helly was Helly..
Tanev and Schenn have made this an even tighter group..
Any line can be thrown out there, in all situations..
Very well coached team...the template is strong..

The more i think about it. The more you it grinds my gears about the lack of respect Arniel is getting for coach of the year.
Carbery this or St Louis that…

I guess everyone forgot the jets were picked to be barely a bubble team. Even a bunch picked them to miss the playoffs.

I guess that’s what happens when you have the best goalie on the planet in your net.

Its all those factors but its also that they had 104 points last season. Seems like the coach of the year goes to guys that have a drastic improvement on teams.

I think Arniel and his staff have had a phenomenal season and he would get my vote but I guess there are others that might have a bit more appeal based on turn arounds.

How tf did we get Barron, Lambert, Salomonsson and Milic for a few months of Copp?

How the also f*** did we get Iafallo, Vilardi, Kupari and Freij for Dubois?!
In Chevy we must trust!
I know some had concerns about the Stan/ Schenn pairing but truthfully against one of the top teams in the league I saw nothing to be concerned about
I thought the coaches did a great job of mixing and matching the defensive pairs. I do not know how much time they actually played together but both were solid tonight.
Schenn is a beast out there.

Too funny according to stats this was one of the Stars better games in the last month lol.

It was a close game until Connor scored the 3rd goal, helly was outstanding and there were not many rebounds. The jets basically made the stars quit with about 15 minutes left.
B2B great games now beat Chicago so they can rest a few guys like Colorado is doing and Dallas will after tonight's takedown.

I could see JAD being a very useful winger for the Jets for a while. Might be able to play up and down the lineup as well. It looks like he has a bit of skill to go with his speed and physicality. He was the 41st pick in the 2017 draft; ppg player in his draft year; and managed 47 pts in 54 games as a 22 year-old in the AHL.

very impressed with him last night.

Kids sports so I was watching PVR and have just finished the first period. Pretty even flow of play to this point. One thing I will say is playing D is so much easier when your forwards are fully committed to the system. The Dallas attack has so little time and space and the back pressure on them is intense. Very much limits their attacking options and routes to choose so the D man’s read gets allot easier.

What a season.

I love reading other teams boards after a Jets win.

"The thing about the Jets is, while they have some good players and a great goaltender, I'm not all impressed with their roster. I think they just play a very well team game, which I'm giving credit to coaching."

Even in our own division no one has an idea who the Jets are. Just the best team in the league over the last 160+ games. The Jets just get broken down to one thing that carries them. Usually it's Helle, but he doesn't deserve consideration for Hart. Or this one is all Arniel but no one talks about him for Adam's. But I'm glad to see Arneil get some recognition.

I guess some "good" players are 55 and 81 and then the rest of the nobodies. I think what other fans who don't watch the Jets miss are two key players Lowry and Morrissey. Morrissey should be a top 5 Norris candidate easy and Lowry is a difficult player to understand if you are a stat watcher. Obviously there are others but those are my top two invisible players on the Jets. They just make magic happen and somehow don't get noticed the way they should.
