And the only thing they got was a picture.... mug shot. Anyone who commits a crime with a weapon deserves to be kicked in the nuts by an angry mule 100 times.

The fear and helplessness Marner must have felt, not being able to protect his wife from the fear those asshats inflicted on her, probably feels absolutely less than a man. It's not his fault, those jerks had weapons but still as a man your job is to protect your family, no matter how illogical it is, you want to go all Rambo on them, it's in our DNA to be protectors and providers. She's going to tell him, it's not your fault, the whole time thinking, what a p***y, I need me a man to protect me. The penalty for first three offences of auto theft is 6 months to a max of 18 months. Yep Marner gets his life and his wife's life threatened and the dirtbags get 6 months min. If the penal system was actually built to rehabilitate people, I'd be OK with lighter sentences but all it does is make criminals smarter. I was having beers last summer with a friend of a friend of a friend, he spent time in jail for possession with intent to distribute. he told me jails are like the University for criminals, they share best practice's, ways to make easy money, people to contact on the outside who are like minded, so on and so on. Wonderful effective system we have.
