Depending on the car it's sometimes easier
When I drive my own car it's small and I have good visibility of the front bumper, so it's very easy to just drive into a spot
When I drive my dad's car it's wider and has a poor turning circle, and I can't really see the front bumper well so I feel it's more likely to hit another car if I'm going in a space with a car either side, so I reverse in using the mirrors, using which I can actually see how close the rear is to the other cars
Also sometimes it's just more convenient to reverse in, and drive straight out when you leave wherever you are
