Chicago is one of the worst defensive teams in the league.

I feel like no Sid or Malkin may help them contribute to doing that. I always feel like they respect Fleury way too much.

I watched the Hawks/Devils game last night. Both teams looked rather unimpressive to me. I think if either played the way they played last night vs the Pens they would lose.
Since I just said that watch the Hawks beat us like 6-0 tonight. They do still look dangerous on the powerplay. Kane is as lethal as ever. But their 5v5 play looked garbage.

Very concerned about Rust and the non-information, not even UBI or LBI…I’m worried he has a concussion or worse, like a neck/disk injury that waylaid Sid or Eichel…. yes, I think the worst, that’s me lol…the poor guy is in a contract year too…
I dunno why they would. We're a pretty solid team defensively. We have bad goaltending but we limit shots fairly well.
I don’t think Florida would rave about our defense…I think we’re weak defensively but I attribute that more to system (we collapse down low instead of being aggressive) than to the players…and yeah, a huge part of defense is goaltending which is below average…
I would agree that if we have any weakness (aside from goaltending) it's that our inzone coverage can sometimes be suspect. But I think we do a really good job of frustrating teams who are trying to break the puck up ice. Our back pressure is relentless and we have good sticks. It's when the pucks get into an established cycle in our end that we occasionally look bad. That's one area we could stand to be better at.
But sometimes we just frustrate a team all night who is trying to break pucks up ice thanks to our speed and sticks. We did that vs Tampa very well.

Yeah, not too confident. They've largely handled us for the last decade. I'd be happy with a point tonight. We can't lose three such players and not have it take a toll. They played last night so that might help. Problem is when you're at home you wanna entertain the crowd. Best way to play is as if you're on the road and keep things simple.

Maybe we'll find a solution to Kane one of these years and do that.
Only problem is that he has 10 points in his last 5 games against us.

Kane's a different animal though. Probably the most pure skill player in the NHL. I don't think this team can process that.
Either way, I'm going to watch that Connor Bedard kid tonight so I'm missing the Pens game.
