Fil being hurt is a nightmare scenario. Legitimately the only forward consistently driving his line all season.

I know it was an awkward play but does Miller have that little awareness that he couldn't react and try and do anything other than elbowing Chytil in the head?

That last shift is still bugging me. Kreider moving in cement, locked knees, literally waving at the puck in the air like it's warmups. Miller just standing still watching, Mika completely out of position. It's a one goal game and you're just giving them the zone and letting them get to the net. What type of effort is that? Is there anyone on this team with the right mentality right now? They'll get in the locker room and talk to the media about needing to play 60 minutes as they're lollygagging at the start to every game and then last night in the last minute of a one goal game.

The "needing to play a full 60" company line is an insult to fans at this point. Its been literally years since it was first uttered and they really dont look that much different since. Leadership too often doesnt want the puck on their stick, doesnt want to get dirty physically. The Rangers start and finish periods terribly because they dont play through the whistle. Cultural problem.

it wasn't bad I guess but I expected better

Fil being out is a death sentence. Our best 5 on 5 center. Welcome back Brod.

Lindgren and Trouba are unadulterated garbage

Miller has had more wtf moments in his career than any other Ranger I could think of

Mika was fine. He scored and played good enough against a dogshit team. Can't say i'm impressed but not disgusted either.

I'm really disconnected from this season. Don't even watch highlights anymore. Just nothing to really be excited about.

I'm sorry but it needs to be said cause it's getting a little much. Players run into each other all the time. It happens. Unfortunately Chytil may be hurt.

But Chytil is NOTORIOUS for skating with blinders on. He routinely has near misses for getting killed near the red and offensive blue line. He is reckless, fast and fragile. A dangerous combo.

What i am getting at is it isn't Miller's fault and it's not Chytils fault. 2 players got mixed up and it happens. Hopefully Chytil is OK.

I agree, hard to get too excited about anything, specifically a single game considering the opponent. With Chytil looking at a potential long-term injury again it’s even more deflating. The Rangers are what they have been for years at this point and the only thing that will change that is a restructuring of the roster.

I'm not really blaming Miller and you want to see your defensemen try to keep the puck in play, but I thought with the puck moving more east-west and not north-south up the boards, that Miller should have recognized Chytil going for the puck there. In fairness, Chytil should have recognized Miller pinching and moved into a position to cover the pinch but his situational awareness when going for a puck is really bad.

We need the Twitter docs on the Chytil video, doesn't help that MSG refuses to show other angles.

Slowing down the clip I don't think Miller's elbow got Fil in jaw or head. Looked more like Front shoulder. However, Fil had a huge whiplash which is bad for both head and neck.

Hoping he had the air knocked out of him. There's no way they force him off the ice just to clear him for return. Then again, maybe he's gone through enough concussion tests to wing it. Who knows. Just really hope he's OK. His energy and enthusiasm this year has been great and it would be demoralizing if this is how it goes.
I can't believe that either Fil or our medical team would attempt to get back in that game if the issue was a possible concussion. Neither could be that stupid. Sore neck, bruised collarbone - hopefully something like that, especially since you claim Miller's elbow did not hit his face. I haven't studied the video.

honestly who the f*** cares exactly who should have been more responsible in that exact split second?

the point is: if that type of contact is dangerous for a player, they shouldn't be in the nhl. there is no way to prevent it.
