Caught a bit of Brunickes game tonight. I know this will come as a shock but his skating is awesome. He was carrying the puck up the ice very confidently and trying to create plays. It seemed like he was being sent out every other shift almost. He has 4 points in 4 games so far so the production is nice to see but his team absolutely sucks ass.
It is as bad as we feared then?
It's a shame he couldn't play in the NHL. Playing on a trash team might lead to him trying to do too much on his own, leading to bad habits ot not using his teammates etc.

Every year the most promising young players in hockey are literally drafted to the worst NHL teams in hockey through the lotto.

Not an overriding concern.

When I first saw the years I thought it was 20 and 16 which is still pretty sus, but like almost marginal. Then I saw it was 21 and 15... Bruh.

Guess they like em young.. Bourque married and had a kid with girl literally half his age
I mean it’s not like you stop being attracted to younger people when you get old.

I thought we would be talking about young players in here. :sarcasm:

Brunicke at ppg pace so far. 5 points in 5 games. I doubt he end up with PPG when season is over, the team seems week and are not scoring much. But maybe 45ish points are ok? It's like a 50% bump from last season

Brunicke will be a RD that can give the Pens a young player who can become a number 1 RD PP in a couple years. Pens loaded up with Rd in the draft which I really liked as Dubas addressed the total lack of prospects in the system. It will take time for this transition from the core cup guys but nice to see the plan developing.

Yeah again, I'm not too focused on points for him. You don't want him playing hero ball just because he can, as that's not gonna be his game in the NHL.

Speaking of Russian prospects, Tankov did get bumped up to St.P-SKA for 2 games, had 0pts, was bumped back down to the VHL (5 games, 2 goals 0 assists).

He had a pretty strong season last year after returning from that brutal injury, he's off to a slow start but I still hold out hope he can play well there with a bump up to the KHL and then comes over like Murashov did. The package of size and talent as well as his skating is just something you hope works out. He finally made his KHL debut, probably could have last year if he didn't miss that neck injury year, but there's still time in the KHL season so maybe he catches fire and gets called up again and does very well in the KHL. Would be cool to see him in camp next year while Geno is still around to have a lad that is similarly built as him that he can maybe mentor in camp.

I still remember this video from Pavel Barber's instagram and then he was drafted by the Penguins later that year.

Its unfortunate he's on the team that has Demidov on their big club, lol. But the Devils prospect, Gritysuk leads them, I thought he would have come over by now for the Devils.

Pittsburghish
Not to be that guy, but Yager averaging almost 2 ppg after 7 games with a much depleted Moose Jaw roster compared to his previous seasons.

When you compare Yager’s upcoming season to Rutger’s last season I think the idea that we got the “clearly” better prospect is going to be much more debatable.
