Really encouraging that in addition to the production, he's playing top 4 minutes and getting PK time.

Yeah.

3rd in total Icetime:
- Pudas 23:43
- Johansson 19:47
- SandinPellikka 19:43

2nd in PP-time (of defencemen, 2nd unit)
- Pudas 1:51
- ASP 1:18

5th on SH-time (of defencemen)
- Pudas 1:55
- Johansson 1:38
- Sundqvist 1:27
- Lundberg 1:25
- ASP 0:41

Think he is kind of the 5th guy on Penalty Kill, who will join the 2nd pair, if PK Top4 defenceman takes the penalty.

Could think he is also double-shifted at some ES shifts.

While the assist is quite nice, the fact that a 19yo offensively oriented defenseman is getting PK time is the more noteworthy piece here.

19?!?!?!?!?! Feels like the Wings must have drafted him at 16! Must be his early entry, and impact, into the SHL. His 2nd SHL season should be fun to watch.

3rd SHL season*

Love that he's not even 20 yet and has played that much pro hockey. Gives him a better pace than major junior for getting his defensive deficiencies up to speed. Learning to work that in with his offensive ability will go a very long way

As Henkka pointed out, his responsibility has increased on the PK and at ES. Good signs early on here

Yzerman has nothing to do with or any influence on anything Skellefteå AIK does. The organization is known for giving homegrown talents chances in the SHL. A stated goal is to have 50% of the SHL roster from the local area or gone through our U16, U18 and U20 teams. It's one of the best developmental environments in all of Europe, which makes the talk of Brandsegg-Nygård playing in the AHL this season insanely stupid.

Except Brandsegg-Nygård is neither from the local area or Skellefteå's junior system so none of that applies to him.
