We're all watching it.

This was the first year I started paying attention to hockey. I was in A2, MI and my sports-philiac buddy decided it was stupid I wasn't a hockey fan. He started to indoctrinate me and I watched a few games with him.

Everyone looks a little sloppy to me here except Ozzy. But SUCH a different era!

Man, when you aren't just watching the top highlights from the best players in an era... a lot of this is shockingly bad
I love watching old highlights after watching a live game. After watching dudes like Larkin or Mcdavid skate, it's funny to see guys like Dmac or Homer look like they're running through mud. Or dudes getting horse collared to the ice.

And I meant we're all watching awood40's stuff. I'm not really interested in the actual tourney, myself. The cartoons on the graphics are killing me though. :)

I thought maybe it was just me, but the Wings were terrible in that game. Tampa scores 10 goals in that game if they knew how to shoot.

Man I miss that Lidstrom one-timer as he drifted backwards. It was a thing of beauty.

Honestly the puck was bouncing around like crazy. Did they not freeze them this game or something??

and holy crap the clutch and grab. Back when guys would literally turn their sticks over so the blade was facing down in order to get a better hook on a guy and it STILL wouldn't get called for a penalty.

So. Much. Hooking.

More hooking than a Bangkok riverside wharf.

Shanahan, Hull, and Duchesne, from that Blues team, all went on to win a Stanley Cup with Detroit.

And that's why it's so hard to compare athletes across different generations. It's like watching a completely different game...kind of lol.

Hey, anyone remember that playoff series where the Wings were obviously not going to be able to stand up to the physicality of the big bad Philadelphia Flyers?

Still laughing my ass off almost thirty years later.

This one should be fun. I've seen almost nothing of young SY.

AT 13:53 there's Chelios giving Konstantinov a dirty crosscheck and elbow to the head.

And man you made me feel old when I went to watch video of "young" Stevie Y and it's from 1993. He was 28 then and I was in college.

Without doing a ton of digging, here's some younger Steve Yzerman from 1987-88.

This one had me laughing out loud at the elbows, rasslin', casual punches. Gawd.

Dude. I graduated college in 1988, if you want to talk 'feeling old'. :)

And thanks! I will watch these tonight.

63 goals. What a crazy era to me.
