Exactly

Watch any part of the clips of him on the ice the last 3 days Hand, wrist shoulder out of play.

He held his head after the hit bent over and when camera when back on him on the bench he was not looking at his hand nor was he rubbing his shoulder.

Actually the trainer was originally checking his arms.

Even if not....Why would they travel with him then?

The trainer was never checking his arm. He was hanging his head over and had his helmet off. Then after the game while on the ice he was doing the same thing.

As for why he flew with the team the grade of concussion was minor and there are no adverse affects indicated with flying. As well as he may not have been experiencing any signs when he got on the plane as not all concussion come with immediate symptoms and some happen even days later.

But he travelled Wednesday Thursday. They held him out Sunday. If he was diagnosed with a concussion it would have been impossible to play for a week. He never could have played. Why travel with the team then??

How are people that convinced he's concussed? All signs point to no concussion but he adjusts his helmet after colliding with Rielly and that's definitive proof.

The skating alone part sounds like a concussion, but the way they've handled him off the ice doesn't seem to be...

Is there any precedent anywhere for a team having a player travel with them knowing that he has a concussion and would be ineligible to play because of the protocol (24 hrs between steps).

Why would toronto bring him last week if it was impossible for him to play because he can’t get cleared for at least 3 days after resuming skating. He couldn’t have finished the steps by Friday even if he was diagnosed Saturday night and everything went perfectly.

He's cleverly being held out of the lineup for an extended period of time to keep those point totals down and consequently, his next contract down...right conspiracy theorists?

Another brilliant move by the Leafs' brass.

He is concussed even hockey central at noon talked about it... why is it so hard for people on here to believe it. He will not play in the game tonight.

They talked about it and stated the same thing that I stated.

And dredger and numerous people have said he wasnt. Any precedent for a team travelling with a player who has a concussion. Can you name one time a player has went on the road in stage 1?

What about 3-5 yrs ago? Crosby? Others? I wouldn't be surprised if players got on a plane to go see a neurologist/specialist after getting a concussion.

No idea?

I mean since the concussion protocol. He could have one. I don’t know. But what we do know is. He grabbed his face (anecdoctally I have trained boxing/mma forever. I have never seen a guy in dream street grab his face. That’s more of a broken nose/chipped tooth or jaw). So it’s possible for sure. But then

1.) our trainers let him play.then he travelled with the team when it would be impossible to play. I don’t know if any team that would take a concussed player who has no chance of playing on a 3 game road trip.

It happens all the time. He is concussed hence why he practicing and I will take Nick and Colby word as they both know what the hell they are talking about. Nick stated exactly what I saw. Mathews bent over holding his head...not his arm nor his hand that he used to hold his head.

He is practicing at full speed with out his team mates and if it was his hand/ shoulder he would be practicing with the team.

And to answer your question Crosby traveled with the team after his first concussion and played when he should not have as he got a rebound concussion.

The Leafs do not need to disclose that he has a concussion but he sure as hell does.

He never grabbed his face he held his head. Also there goes that for your experience.

He did it on the ice when it happened then went to the bench and hung his head.

Here is what happened trainer asked him if he was ok and he said yes. Babcock put him back on the ice for a shift. He never should have played but he did. How the NHL spotters missed the fact that he took a shot to the head is beyond me but they did. Likely very minor symptoms at the time.

Babcock wanted to play him as that is why he was on the road trip but his symptoms likely got worse and here we are now with him now missing 4 games and counting with him practicing separate from the team. I can not see him playing tonight or even before Christmas as why would they play him Saturday night when he could get a further 5 days rest.

Also all concussion symptoms are not present when a concussion happens and many times it takes hours and even days for them to occur.

sky is falling type people, worst case scenario. There is 0% chance he would get on planes and travel with the team if he was recovering from concussion. He would be at home until 100% fit, not getting on airplanes and hanging around noisy well lit hockey rinks

I am not a sky is falling type poster never have been.

In this case I clearly see the signs and I am not the only one. If you understand a concussion you would also know that symptoms do not occur at the time of injury and most often they are delayed.

I simply can not believe that a NHL spotters missed this.

Remember the player is the one who answers questions and if he answered no to the questions then a concussion is dismissed. His eyes would be the dead giveaway.

Answer this : why has he not played? Nor even skated when on the road trip. Or why has he not participated in a team practice?

because he is injured? pretty simple answer, if he had a broken hand he wouldn't do all those things or if he had a sprained ankle he wouldn't do all those things. He has skated before practice for a little over a week now, including game day skates with the scratches.

It's NOT a concussion, and the NHL spotters missed nothing. Chill man.
