GDT: Avs vs. Toronto Maple Leafs, Wednesday, March 19th, 7pm.

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

Feels like that zone entry where Matthews attacks the blueline then flips a backhand pass over to player on the boards doesn't work nearly enough against top teams.

Not the greatest first period but still 1:20 on the PP, so converting here would be huge.

Berube style …bounce off boards and dump and chase.
Will be interesting how many shots we get compared to Keefers system.

Fans complained we didn’t have hits with keefer but it’s hard to hit when you have the puck.

Berube system has hits but can’t score because they don’t have puck possession.

Berube is slowly killing the spirits of his stars.

Let’s hope Berube playoff team has more success as the regular season leafs is boring.

Fans want to pay higher ticket prices watching this type of hockey?

Saving grace is the NHL playoffs change their rules to promote more goonery so maybe this will suit Berube system better seeing how our D have no offensive skill

These analyst never say anything about Holmberg on the 2nd line. He should be in the fourth line, never mind where Laughton goes, he's good anywhere in the bottom 6.

McCabe takes it harder to the net than the forwards? Sigh.

Also, what happened to coconut cream pie? I haven't had it since I was a kid and can't seem to find it anywhere in grocery stores. Meh, Leaf games...

Anyone gets chances on that line. He's simply isn't a top 6 forward, so let's just move ahead. He's cannon fodder depth imo.

I know the shots are 12-5 but I thought they played a good first period.

Very few if any of those 12 shots were grade A scoring chances.

On the other hand the Leafs had at least 2 in those 5 shots.

McCabe had one, and Nylander with that partial breakaway

I don't get this we're being dominated by their blazing speed, we've had tons of zone time just need to shoot more, that's the difference. Seems we want to hate for hate's sake.

Avs have dumped their fair share of pucks in our zone or out of their zone... the difference is their forecheck is far superior and they seem much better at being able to sustain a cycle.

I dunno how many times the Leafs just lost the puck in the offensive zone by just not forechecking, which is a system thing since it's to block the neutral zone, or just giving the puck away from trying to cycle because no one was there?

Leafs need to find a way to generate offense.

That looked like boys against men in the 1st period. The Avs were getting their sticks on everything the Leafs tried.
1st 10 they didn't look great.

Last 10 it was starting to even up.

Woll held them in.

Hopefully an early powerplay goal or at least momentum from it. Then go from there.

wonder who sportsnet is going to promote when the jays start next year, they will have no stars left lol
