  • If you are having issues logging in, we have found opening the log in page in a new tab/window rather than using the pop out should resolve these issues. We are working to get this resolved and thank you for patience.
  • Due to the increased volume of league transactions, the Trade Rumors and Free Agent Talk section is temporarily restricted to where threads may only be started by moderators and sponsors. We anticipate that this restriction will be lifted some time after the first round of the draft.
Svechkov looks like a goal scorer from the highlights I've looked up lol

im intrigued by their AHL production they def seem like if they're given an offensive scheme and a decent chance they could blossom

they weren't first round picks for nothing

Yeah I don't quite get this one, unless Laroo is getting shipped somewhere else in another deal.

Maybe they think they can clean up his game like they did NAK.

Svechkov appears to be an 4th line defensive forward, he's listed as a center but man, he appears to suck royally at draws. Okay,

I love this deal.

Two pairs of fresh legs, both under contract for two seasons(+RFA rights), both with untapped potential. This is the type of trade I was hoping for this offseason to get younger around the edges.

I agree. Done with this "you need to be old to win". There's a limit to that.. we saw this season.

It's a gamble, but I think we are in situation where we probably have to take some risks to build a great team. We can't just run it again with this team. We need changes and fresh legs. That's what Sakic did.

Guy seems to have some skill, looks a lot bigger than 5'11 out there really. Always in the right spot, net front presence I don't hate it. There's always the Colorado effect of this system (in the regular season at least) and getting occasional ice time with Makar that props everyones numbers up.

let's hope so. They both require waivers.

But yes, in reality both should be on the opening day roster, even if one is scratched. Still some moves to come I'm sure but they are basically 2/3rds of a 4th line but can play up. If Svechkov really hits he might still be a poor man's 2C

L'Heureux is a real shit disturber. Can't think of the last guy we've had like this. Kind of like a Cody McLeod meets Matt Cooke

Look, I liked Drury, I really did. Just about the perfect 4C, and I doubt we'll see another 4c of that caliber anytime soon

But it's clear that we couldn't afford him, and ended up getting two promising young players who will make less than Drury combined

Svech is a really high IQ player with good wheels, and Happy is pest with good wheels. They both have untapped scoring ability, and have a good chance to thrive

And if Bedsy hates them, f*** him, their contracts will outlast his

It is pretty funny that Sakic goes back to the GM role and in the eyes of the public (Not here because some of you are literally just pure haters of everything now) immediately makes two very lopsided trades for the Avs again.
I think some of this are pretty down on things right now since Bednar is coming back...which is justified. We've since a disconnect for years between what the front office acquires and what Bednar then does, and the read on this L'Heureux fellow is that we should have every reason to be excited about him -- except for the fact that Bednar hates the hard forechecking pest-type archetype who occasionally take dumb penalties.
